A good introduction to your work could make a nice article (and maybe get you a couple of volunteers more). Have you consider it?

Yes I actually have and this is actually the plan. There is a lot of ground to be covered, from engine initialisation to scene and materials setup. It will be quite a long article but it is definitely necessary. So thanks for the advise and please stay tuned!

A series of articles would indeed be more appropriate. Thanks again.

I had set up Windows 10 to do this, and sometimes it works, but typically it doesn't. The last time it didn't warn me, the whole system shut down - and since I was in the middle of saving an OpenOffice document, that whole document got wiped (i.e., all zeroes), and I couldn't even recover it with Recuva. For whatever reason, the HP battery plug doesn't seem to want to stay in its place. (I should say that my regular use of the system is as a "bellytop". )
So now I'd like to get an app that would run in the background (including starting up when Windows boots) and give me these warnings.

I can't help you with the battery thing, but I can help you with your other issue... How to Change Auto Save in Open Office | Chron.com[^]
Personally, I hit CTRL + S at least once a minute.
I never really have to because I don't think I'm still using software that DOESN'T have auto save, but I'm paranoid like that

That's not paranoia, that's hard-won experience. I routinely hit Ctrl-S or Ctrl-Shift-S almost every time I stop typing.

You can write one easily enough. I wrote a little class to monitor batteries and it was/is very simple. I am certain you can find others, likely even on this site.

Not sure if it does alerts, but give BatteryBar a try. I use the free version. I see it's on sale and really not expensive, only $4.

The ah, the one that was with you throughout the day's trials and tribulations.
The one with which you spent so very many hours with late at night and into the early hours.
The one that watched silently and sometimes, with subtle scorn as you made mistake after mistake.
Thank heavens she made you get a wriggle-on and move on with your life.
Wonder what she's up to these days, spoken recently?

As I almost always cook and similarly almost always eat little to nothing all day: I'm quite hungry by dinner. The food's cooked and the problem becomes getting her to sit down before it's cold is sometimes a problem. You know - you shout out it's done and she'll say 'just a minute'. She never tells me witch minute to which she is referring.
One option I have - if I'm busy (or cheated and found a jar of nuts and finished it) is to declare "snack dinner". This justifies a free-for-all on get what you can before the other does, eat it, and repeat until eyes are glassy.

You guys all have the wrong kind of wife.
Mine cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner for me every day and even offers supper snacks if wanted.
...and it is always delicious, she is an excellent cook!
She cleans the kitchen between each meal, the dishwasher is always busy.
We are a partnership. I do the big income work and pay for everything. She maintains the house, the dog, the kids (even though they are grown up now) and me. Good deal!
