That's more or less all the code running in production servers around the World. It is product of "We only have (insert ridiculously low time duration here) and you need to deliver this component."

I like it here. People are good, the city is nice and there are plenty of places for my son to have fun. We don't know anyone around so sometimes it gets boring. Still amazed by your fascination with calendars and plans. Got an invite in July for a barbecue in September.

30 Watts? have to be quick! USB-C seem to melt quicker than A's or B's and they were fast!
But you said it not me, If I was in Griff's position I would break out the iron...

You're right, of course.
Given that it's about computer tech, I should have linked to this one[^].

Ha!
How could anyone be expected to use that on a USB port on the edge of a laptop?!?
My solution is obviously more practical.

Male / Female - its all fluid these days. Just have the cable identify as female (or male - whatever you need) and everything will be good.

Nope, that's not PC. Even back in the '80s my Dad was told to change all occurrences in his warehouse management system from male/female to inner/outer
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, navigate a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. I once created a list of all the film formats I had been using in the days of silver photography (/home movies).
A list of all the home video tape formats that I have got in my basement.
A list of all the digital storage media formats (starting with 8 channel paper tape!)
A list of hard disk interface standards that I have been using over the years.
A list of computer peripheral interface standards (screen, keyboard, mouse, MIDI, ...)
A list of document file formats in which I have produced my own documents.
A list of network communication protocols I have used for transferring data betwen computers
Some of these have major and minor entries, such as document file formats that are technically different, but handled by the same application (such as .doc/.docx). Some have a common core, but e.g. SCSI was used with 14 different plugs (when I had to buy an adapter for my eight of those, I decided to never more buying any SCSI equipment).
Most of the lists ended up at least two to three times as long as I would ever have dreamt of. When I then think of all the standards that I have skipped, and stuck to the old established one for a few more years (but friends and colleagues couldn't understand why I was so stubborn), it gives me a feeling of "standard" being another name for "fad".
