A pal of mine in Italy cried for hours (literally cried for hours; wailing and moaning) when Villeneuve popped his clogs in spectacular fashion.
Sympathy and empathy are one thing, but that was way over the top -- and perhaps a tad self-indulgent.

I just ported a Vue app written in JavaScript to typescript. It involved declaring about 50 classes and types and wiring it all up again. Some of the libraries I’m using are still plain JavaScript and I’ll be the first to admit I’m no TypeScript expert so I was making this up as I went along.
I ported. I compiled. There were no bugs. That was a bit concerning. I thought ‘why not?’ And hit F5.
The whole thing ran. Perfectly. First time.
What a magic feeling.
cheers
