Bug?
By adding a small amount of seaweed to the programmer’s feed, researchers found, they could cut bug production by nearly 60%.
and thus better then 60% less bugs as the number of bugs is proportional to the number of lines of code squared.

It works as well!
Almost as soon as companies start feeding developers Laverbread, 60% of them leave the company and take their bug production with them.

I had some yesterday. But I'm sure the effects will have worn off by the time I get back to work on Monday.
On the other hand, I'm unlikely to write any bugs before then.

Improving upon this result, the latest management trend finds that feeding them cyanide cuts bug production by 100%

Aside from the real meaning of the article, which you've covered to perfection, there's also the subtext that we idiot humans can continue to pollute like maniacs if we force bovines to eat food that they have not evolved eating, and which may have unexpected side effects on them (which we'll deal with by drugging the poor things up to the eyeballs, obviously).
I love humans. The world is so much better because of them.

Brilliant, Bill! But I have to ask, would this simple diet change work similarly to reduce stupid decisions, if fed to management? If so, it would improve productivity of the workforce by an immeasurable margin.

Hi, Roger, I think managers would not respond to any dietary modifications, and the only remedy that could be used is chemical castration ... dependent of course on gender.
cheers, Bill

Hi all!
Some of you will remember I bought a sit stand table from Steelcase.
After some time working on it I can say:
1. The table is rigid up and down.
2. When my neck and back hurts changing position helps a lot.
3. At the beginning standing is painful as you are not used to, then it's easier.
4. Being able to store the table positions into the pad memory is great.
5. This one has a safety feature that is nice: you have to keep the memory button pressed to move the table to that position... so you are there while the table moves and it's less probable a chair under the table makes a big mess.
6. Cable management is excellent.
7. Now I have a table that fits my body, while sitting I have my table almost 10cm lower than my previous one and I love it.
The only downside it's not on the table itself.
Buying a Steelcase I expected a great support apart of a great product.
The product is great. No doubt of that.
But...
They told me they had to use their own people to mount it as they are the experts... which to me it sounds perfect...
the problem comes when the guys that came didn't follow the instructions at all... usually those tables are mounted upside down in order to have all the parts free to move and bolt them when everything is correct.
They simply made it all wrong... even I had to tell them that legs were crooked after they "finished"...
There is a metal arm that is under the desktop that should be in contact with the desktop helping it to support the weight of what is on top of it that has been left separated from the desktop (almost half a centimeter) which makes it a piece of useless weight.
And of course... the desktop moves forward and backwards a little (after releasing the lock system) in order to put things inside the electrical tray... in order to avoid the cable that goes from the power/battery box to the control pad to hang, there is a plastic cable chain that handles it gracefully...
The only problem is that they connected it only at one side...
Of course I called them, sent them emails... but they have got at least 4 weeks of time to answer and remain silent.
All in all... really happy with the table, as it is exactly what I wanted.
But to me it's clear that, when I'll change my chair I'll get another Herman Miller and I won't even go to see the Steelcase ones...
Notice I bought the table at the Steelcase shop in Barcelona... Not a reseller, not a third party...

Thanks for this field Report. One question: Which model you ordered? Is it the "Migration"?
Thank you in advance.
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

Back before iPhone hit the scene, there was a third-party service from which one could buy and download applications for Windows Mobile devices (not Microsoft's Mobile Marketplace...the service to which I am referring was before that). I cannot remember its name, though I think the word "Digital" was in the name. Does anyone remember that service's name?

I don't know if it quite qualifies as an "app store", but I used to use 4pockets.com (which has now reverted to being under production).
[edit] It's on the wayback machine[^].

Yet another anime soundtrack this week, they just keep on coming lately.
This one is a long time favorite of mine, a beautiful song that kind of matched my mood this week.
Has this one been SOTW before? Can't quite remember...
