I think it's a testament to the sweetness of cats that we love them regardless of their faults.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

If we're considering impossibilities like making cats behave, how about:
A cure for all diseases
A solution for hunger, poverty, etc.
...
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

At the end I got the privilege to buy and install the antivirus for the whole family [/irony]
I purchased a 10 devices licence of BitDefender Total Security.
I installed it in my PC to have a test period before installing the rest.
It looks nice.
A couple of annyoing popups until you find the right option in the settings but nothing that bad.
Not noticeable performance loss.
One could think that is a bit intrusive in some options. i.e. locate and block device (or wipe) which I am not sure yet if it is something I like or better get it off.
It offers a propietary and (supposedly) secure browser for online banking. Not really sure yet if good or not.
Secure file deletion, Encrypted containers, VPN...
I have installed the laptop today...
Number of installed devices: 1
List "My Devices": MyLaptop
Where is "MyPC"?
I go to the FAQ:
Why are the devices getting replaced in the list of "My Devices"?
The most probably reason is that the devices are sharing a MAC, this happens when Software like "VMWare", "VirtualBox" or similars are installed.
Solution? Kind of obvious... Deinstall VMWare, Re-Install Bitdefender, Re-Install VMWare
It looks like they only update the list, once during the installation.
To be honest, I would have expected a bit more from such a product. Like Checking for "VMWare" in the name of the adapter (usually "VMWare Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMNet8") and maybe ignoring that MAC when filling the list of the installed devices.
[EDIT]
I have deinstalled the VMWare software, reinstalled the antivirus and... nothing. It continues confusing both devices in one. I suppose this time is due to the ISATAPs tunnels (since they are the only common things now)
In addition... I had 143 messages:
"Codeproject has tried an SQL-Injection attack. We have blocked the connection to avoid, that the attacker gains access to sensitive data"
I thought SQL Injection attacks can only be dangerous for the webs. And not for a private user, navigating a web
I am starting to wonder if I did the right selection

No... I mean that the list of "installed devices" in the website is buggy if you have vmware.
I have two devices installed so far and the software only recognises 1 device. I don't know if there maybe is a side effect, like problems in updating or similars.
To be honest... if I was sure there are no side effects that affects local functionality, I would leave it this way. I am not that convinced with the "locate, lock and/or wipe" function in their web.
But if you do like such functionality, then you must do the de- and re-install. If not... no way to have it working properly.

Now the missing link to success is: Why would anyone download a browser which improves the tracking capabilities of third parties?
I get ads shown anyways, and I really will not help personalizing them by downloading a browser. And why would any publisher opt in on that when the browser is a major puzzle piece to make it work, and barely anyone is using it?
My guess is that tech-savy people, and those who care for that kind of thing, will not switch (or will switch to something else if their browser of choice opts in). And those who don't are using edge anyways.

... of course, it was a scam
(That was the title of an email I received this morning. The first sentence: "Everything on the internet is lie..." There was even a clickable link to 'get some tips' from! Anyone interested? I'm sure it is a one-time offer, only good for the next five hours. )

JsonObjectMapper josnMaaper = new JsonObjectMapper();
When Intellisense sees an abuse of spelling like that ("josnMaaper"), a message pops up:
You are not authorized to program in C#. Go back to coding in BASIC
and promptly shuts down VS and brings up a BASIC emulator page.
Sigh. This is from sample C# code from a payment processor company.

What do you have against Josn Maaper? I know him. He's ok.

... just hardly scrolling at all most of the time. So I decided to open her up and see what was what.
Wish I hadn't. Loads of cat fur (expected, it's a fashion statement as well as a condiment in this house) and some strange yellow gunk that I can only assume came off my hands ...
Maybe I should start using hand sanitiser before I touch my computer?
(All fixed: a quick dismantle, clean and try-not-to-identify-the-gunk session, and she's good to go.)
If you eat near your computer, you probably don't want to take your mouse or keyboard apart. Just burn them. (I don't, and this was nasty looking enough.)

A mouse or keyboard is often touched, and rarely cleaned. For a programmer, it may contain more germs than some smart phones. Alcohol-based sanitizer is cheap. Put it on your desk and make it a habit

I've been advised to sanitize by a medic since my immune-system is lazy or ignorant or both. It is not just germs on your mouse; there are "things" living on your skin that you squeeze to death when playing WarCraft.
Now, I'm a smoker, so my keyboard needs replacement after a month anyway. Chance is, you had yours a lot longer. New life might be evolving on your keyboard; either provide it with a decent controlled ecosystem for it to flourish, or sanitize.
