The difficult we do right away...

Hi,
The guy sitting next to me has started to eat his brekfast at his desk, not a problem. However it's raw vegetables on black bread, the question is how long I take the odor of spring onions... I hate spring onions, at this time of days food should be either liquid, toasted or fried!
It was early missed an 'a'...

breakfast is too soon to start work (actually I have trouble focusing on text in the mornings), regardless computer work starts after lunch. Mornings is , drinking coffee, doing housework (with rare bursts of shopping), drinking coffee, riding or working on my bike and drinking coffee.
meals always away from the machine, need a proper break (followed by coffee).
sheesh, next we will have people working on airplanes ... oh wait.

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I left out Fermented, liquid kinda covers it, not totally...
Now the weirdo's eating a raw cucumber, will he stop with all this healthy eating!

I have breakfast at work as I leave for work at 7:30am to arrive at 9am.
BUT I never eat it at the desk.
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians.

Be thankful, be very thankful, here in Asia they eat some decidedly smelly crap for breakfast. There is a sticky rice they have that stinks like dog sh*t, not I'm not exaggerating, first time I smelt it I was looking for the stray dog in the office.
Some people bring it in at sparrows fart, I start early, and it stinks out the entire floor. I have been known to leave the office on those occasions.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

We need a constitution, with some basic freedoms. In rustic style, so that it looks like it was written by those ENIAC guys. Then we can nail it to the cubicle wall and demand our rights.

I must admit I'd say something - if you don;t call out anti-social behavior, you're condoning it and there's nothing more anti-social than eating smelly food first thing in the morning at your desk.
Keep your friends close. Keep Kill your enemies closer.

Although DevOps goes some way to bridging the mindset differences between Programmers and Infrastructure Engineers, we still have quite a way to go apparently. As a programmer, I often get called a cowboy by my Infrastructure colleagues, but this one was pure gold.
I was recently performing some remote work for a client in Adelaide Australia, which is known to get a little hot on occasions, when my remote connection suddenly dropped out. I tethered my phone and checked my email to find this:-

Subject: Server shut down due to hot weather
Importance: High
Some servers have got too hot and have shut down. This unfortunately means the Customer Server Web server i.e. Work Order system is down.
We are leaving them off for ~15 minutes while we run fans over them & will then try powering them back up.
At least we got to go home early!

A company I once worked with had the opposite.
A customer wanted a computer in a cooling cell at -25C and colder (I can't remember why they couldn't just place it outside the cell).
We called one of our associates who build a custom box that was pretty well isolated and had a small heating element.
If the temperature dropped to a certain degree the heater would turn on and made sure the computer didn't freeze (literally)
