Thinking about it, even "alleged consumables" might be an over-complimentary choice of words!

Nearly 30 years ago I remember having a meeting when someone suggested using floating points for amounts. At that point all ledger amounts where stored as two numbers 12 digits for the value and 2 for decimal places, so £5.67 would be 00000000056702 . It worked and going floating point would have introduced more pain than gain.

give them 56 cents and wait for the change.
actully on a similar note many asian shops are dropping the 2nd decimal on prices. Something that used to be expressed as say $5.60 (coffee at some shops) now shown as $5.6 (yeah I know Japan has long only used 1 dp. Here in Singapore they dropped the 1c from general circulation but we still have 5c coins - banks though still use 1c if for instance closing an account - still legal tender.
I find not writing the 2dp is just laziness, and at the local eating houses coffee only cost $1.00 and usually tastes better then the stuff the lazy folks make.

Sitting snug in the market, dominating the film industry, Kodak totally underestimated the effect of digital cameras. Consequently It declared bankruptcy 6 years ago. Now suddenly they have found a way to resurrect itself by creating its own crypto currency. Will you invest in Kodak as a result of it creating its own cryptocurrency?

Pathetic isnt it.
They had to either invent something like the Go Pro or die. And now this, desperate bullshit effort to stay afloat.
It will probably backfire, and finish them off sooner. They are clearly well out of touch with the modern world.

I'm no expert in this field, but I'm not sure why Kodak is coming n for any more criticism than anyone else for investing in this - they're hardly alone. Their shares have soared, and they have a long queue of people wanting to get on board with them. Furthermore, they themselves are only investing in the technology, not Bitcoin itself - that's down to the individual miners who buy in to it. IF BC goers under, Kodak can still put the blockchain technology to other uses, if they want. And, they have their own power generating plant which is under-capacity at the moment, so can run these rigs relatively cheaply.
Can't say I'd invest in BC myself, but there you go...

Crypto's are drowning out each other, their worth may fall rather quickly.

Kodak mad the best Bridging Camera (a.k.a. SuperZoom). I have a Z990 and love it. Now the logo's licensed to so junk company.
My Z990 has a 30x Schneider lens & uses 4 AA NiMH batteries. I compared, side by side, their stuff to a Nikon . . . no contest.
OK - I only get a couple hundred shots on a set of batteries, between charges, if I use the flash, but a spare set is US$ 6. Beats the crap out of proprietary Li-ion batteries.

One of my DBA's is forwarding me e-mails from some programmer guy we hired a couple of months ago from some outsourced department. It's not the profanity that bothers me, it's just that every time I want a new report, I will have to go through mediation with the HR department.
Yesterday I remember, there was this email from an indian company about outsourcing data mining, sounds interesting, let me look into it.

So I'm a DBA entrusted with securing the nations's data and some new guy downstairs has been sending increasingly offensive emails trying to cajole me into giving him crazy levels of access to sensitive data.
I have reported him to my superiors and I guess he'll be getting his marching orders later...
[EDIT] Just seen the bugger drive away in some crazy looking Mustang. Noisy as hell - must be wasting gas on a monumental basis!
