This past weekend, I asked my father-in-law's Alexa who her favorite Beatle was.

Good. When I just read your subject line, I thought you were going to post that he died.

"Services to Music"? Wasn't he described as "Not the best drummer in the Beatles"?
And look at his company: Nick Clegg? Rick Stein? I'm kinda glad Liz ignored me again this year ...

Never understood why - he was/is a perfectly good drummer, and certainly up to anything the Beatles' music demanded.
But this whole honours thing has degenerated into a meaningless farce now.

he was/is a perfectly good Drummer he is very ok, but far away from perfect/good

A lot is said about the mediocrity of his style. I think it (his style) stands up pretty well. New Year's honours were never based on talent.

Nick Clegg - the man who won an election by making a promise to young people then immediately rescinded the promise on getting into office.

I was just thinking this morning, if you have any children in the next decade or so, you shouldn't name them:
> Alexa
> Cortana
> Orenthal Kierkegard ("OK") Giugelle
> Siri
No hard examples of why or why not, just thinking out loud here...

Really? Far worse is discussed in the Lounge with no one saying a word about Soapbox. I mention two words and you have to mention the soapbox. Interesting.

Some people have surnames as first names and I've seen first names as surnames as well. Go figure.

Oddly enough we were in the shopping centre (mall) yesterday, and overheard a lady calling out "Alexa, come here", to a small child.
