The mane is on the opposite side of the head. A lion has just a few whiskers, like all cats.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.

When I worked at a food production facility, it was a clean shave policy - if you don't shave, don't come in to work.
On September 1, 1993, the policy changed; now, to go in the mill, you had to wear a beard bag if not clean shaven. Since we already had to wear hair nets, I decided to stop shaving and wear the beard bag as needed.
I don't remember the last night I shaved.

Just for clarity...
You choose to grow a beard in the summer (warm) and shave it off in the winter (cold)?
|
|

No. I grow a beard anytime and shave it off when I feel like it. In the past that moment came a few times when my dad (and Sgt. Major, now long retired) informed me that I started to look like a bear around the balls.

So I followed a link to the mahApps MahAppsMetroThemesSample on Git here
How in the world do you download the code??? I don't see a Download link or button.
THIS is why I've always found Git to be confusing
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
Everything makes sense in someone's mind.
Ya can't fix stupid.

Well that's just github being confusing, but I mean of course git has its moments too. That being said, on github you have to export the whole repo. So, if you go here[^] you'll see a green button on the right where you'll have the option to download the repo as a ZIP.

How would anyone ever have known that?? The page I was on looked like a .SLN and a folder full of code. Looked right to me.

I would say experience.
I've had the same experience with github trying to download a subfolder of a project and I just looked around and went up to the project root to find the "clone" button.
I'd rather be phishing!

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from lack of wisdom.

Even Microsoft doesn't know that. The instructions for cloning the DotNetFramework-4.7 example for Docker for Windows says "git clone..." with a URL to the sub-folder, not the top-level repo.

I think this is poor UI/UX by GitHub - not Git's fault, and definitely not your fault. The 'Clone or Download' button might be more useful if it were up at the top by the watch/star/fork buttons, since those apply to the entire repository just like clone/download does. And if someone might want to fork the repo while looking in a subdirectory, they might also want to clone or download it then too.
Some of GitHub's competitors do a better job here. In this repository on Gitlab, you can see that even in a deeply nested directory, there's still a direct link at the top right to easily download the code. BitBucket does it the same way for both Git and Mercurial repositories.

Sounds like you have a good handle on this stuff, I may have to steel some of this knowledge, and forge my own opinions.
