I got a speeding ticket (5km, argh! )
So anyway, I got an email with a link to the ticket.
I click the link and there it is.
No login, no password, no secret token, no nothing.
Thanks government, for making my speeding ticket public
All you need to do is guess a 50-something SHA key (or get that link through some other means)
I can also tell they're running JBoss Web/3.0.0-CR2.
I think the error page is the default JBoss error page.
Their other error page (that you get when the error is "properly" handled?) is literally this:
<div id=error>
<h3>Error!</h3>
</div>

Did it also include instructions on how to pay your fine via Western Union, or do you have to submit your credit card, bank account and passport details to totallynotascammerhonestguv@scammers-r-us.ng?
(Fake speeding-ticket emails seem to be quite a common scam[^].)

They wanted my bank details, which I thought was weird.
But apart from some spelling errors the mail looked legit, so I gave it to them.
Who can we trust if not our governments?

As if the government were not the greatest scammers of all.

That makes no sense. Unless they changed it very recently, you should just have received a paper letter from the CJIB. And they just take the money, you don't have to give it to them (you can pay early, but they don't need your bank details, they already have them).

Well they are part of the government, they have access to literally anything you own including your own person.

They've never taken the money.
They sent me letters before, but I don't want paper so I receive everything online on mijnoverheid.
Of course I did not expect mijnoverheid to be this insecure

Thanks government, for making my speeding ticket public That's the actual punishment now and not the ticket. Congratulations, you made it into the driving hazard database.

You get what you pay for.
Except in the case of government that seems to be an inverse relationship.

And it probably only cost about eight times the going rate to get the site running -- which is OK, because they'll just focus the police's attention on drawing in money for parking and speeding.
