DRAFTED means both forced to server (in the military) and following closely in someone's wind shadow.
I got hung up on "follows" meaning that two words are joined together and so got nowhere

Correct!
I thought it was quite easy, but I guess I over simplified it.

Hi All,
Has anyone else noticed this the code sections of articles which are orange now have a 'colorised in X ms' for me in Firefox today. Must admit I have not really looked for a week or so is this anything to do with the Win 10 update, just that I have been using Weven when I have looked...

Yes.[^]

No, it's not "colorised in X ms", it's "colourised in X ms". if you are going to spell it English style with the "s" rather than the American style with "z" (both of which are equally valid) then you need to spell it "colour" rather than "color". Mixing the two is making my eyes cross!

Oooh dear the shame, I have fallen victim to the classic over the pond spelling, I blame the years I was forced to program in Pascal.

... but right now, I'm not a happy camper!
When I started my computer this morning, I got a message that it had been updated - and it took FOREVER to start up! Irritating, but not that uncommon of course...
After that, I've noticed:
1) I have been FORCED to log into OneDrive AND it wants to upload all the contents of My Documents folder to same. First of all, I don't WANT all my documents in the cloud! Second, I use Dropbox for the stuff I DO want there, and I'm perfectly happy with that!
2) My Windows Media Player seems to have disappeared, and all of my media file associations have been changed to stupid apps like Itunes etc...
Just waiting to find other irritating changes!!!
[EDIT] 3) Oh, the Start menu has changed and doesn't look anything like what it did yesterday. Now I don't even know how to lock my computer! [/EDIT]
[EDIT 2] 4) I cannot play ANY video in ANY webbrowser - presumably somthing that has to do with 3) ! [/EDIT 2]
Anybody know why Media Player has been removed? And what Microsoft expects you to use instead? (I do use VLC as well, but Media Player was perfect for ripping CD's etc)...

For edit 3......Windows + L
All things you need are in Windows + X, for anything else there is the Search circle on the task bar....can't think of the last time I actually browsed the start menu!

I prefer to use the mouse becuse I can never remember the shortcut keys. But now they have made that much harder!

I never remembered them before Win8 happened.
After that it became magically essential. Huh, I guess Win8 was good for something after all!

At least you have a mouse to use. I'm not kidding. This Win10 update was a complete fail for me as it broke my trackpad driver. Oh, the pointer moved, but they reset it to settings that made it practically usable. When I tried to get into the mouse settings, it forced, yes forced, me to uninstall the driver, just so I could get to the settings they whacked. A few reboots later and there was some sort of driver for my trackpad, but its so buggy the mouse is still nearly unuseable.
I still need Windows, which is why the laptop is with me at work today. I making a backup disk image (in case I need to boot it in a VM to get something off it) today. This weekend it's being reverted back to Win 8.1.
I've been waiting until Linux became stable and featured enough for the masses to start switching over. Little did I suspect MS would lower their quality until it was lower than Linux. I predict the savvier non-computer-people users will start switching soon. So, apparently Microsoft was right after all, Windows 10 is the last Windows OS they'll ever make.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.

Thanks for hint on Win+X
Menu way to
* lock PC: WinKey Click head-and-shoulders icon, select Lock (same icon can be used to change user etc
* Close down (This one I spent some time looking for when W10WA arrived): WinKey Standby icon (one everyone calls the on/off or power icon) Click, select Shut down

To listen music I'm using MusicBee and it is really nice... like mediaplayer but it remembers the song it was playing when you shut it down so you can continue from there...
To copy CDs... and so I'm using cdburnerxp... free and works wonderfully well.
It is somehow incredible that Microsoft is following this path... it is incredible... windows 10 is nice but those things...

The owner of dub111.mail.live.com has configured his website wrong
Now, let's see - who should we contact about that? Who owns live.com? Who could be incompetent enough to configure the site wrong?

It looks like all UWP apps disappeared from my start menu. And when I have Edge or the Windows Store apps open, their icons are missing from the task bar and they don't show up in Alt-Tab either. It's like Windows in trying to remove the new features they want everyone to use...
