I tried picking up the guitar a few years ago. Smoke on the water was one of the first songs.
One song I can recomend is Depeche Mode - personal jesus. Really simple to do.
Disturbed - darkness. Also quite simple yet beautiful to play yourself.
I remember that I used something called tabs which made it super easy as long as the song wasnt too complex.

There's a guitar shop in town that has a sign on the wall saying that anyone playing Smoke on the Water will be thrown out of the shop.

Strange that I received an email notification for this message just now.
Even I know a few stores like that. What they don't realize is that that's the first tune almost everyone plays when they try to learn guitar.

On the contrary, that is exactly what they have realized, they've just gotten seriously tired of hearing differently mangled versions of the same tune every day.

I've noticed that when I minimize all the windows the screen brightness is progressively getting lower, and when I open any window the screen brightness gets brighter...
Is this normal?

Do you have a dark background, bright windows, and a monitor with fancypants "dynamic contrast"?

bright windows. Yes.
Dynamic contrast. ?¿?¿
No idea...

Does your monitor have a small circular vaguely translucent white piece of plastic about 1/2 cm in diameter somewhere on the bezel?

Yes. The exact rite depends on the religion your computer professes...

Just use a ducking stool - will fix problem PC's (especially iProduct) every time.

Nice to know there is something that works for those eyeProducts. Been having a bit of an infestation myself and you got to get to work quickly before they spread. So far our computers has been clean but a tablet recently got hit by some severe eye problems.
