Start by paying attention to where you are.
Look at the top of this page, and you will see it says:
Technical discussions are encouraged, but click here to ask your programming question. But you didn't did you...
Ask your question in a suitable place: http://www.codeproject.com/Questions/ask.aspx[^]
But...just posting your error message with no detail is like calling the garage, saying "my car broke" and putting the phone down. You are going to be waiting a long time for them to arrive where you are (they don't know), with the right parts for your car (which they don't know), to fix a problem you haven't told them about!
So tell us what the problem is: when does it occur? What code is executing? How do you cause it?
Otherwise, you will wait a long time for a helpful reply...

You could start by NOT posting tech questions here and try Quick Answers[^] instead. I heard they're helpful there. But only when it's a full moon during the months[^] of Sip, Xul and Mol

Your database servers hard drive is damp and is causing sticktion in the lock. You need to bake it in your oven for 30 minutes at 350F (175C); and then immediately cool it back to normal by plunging it into a bath of Liquid Nitrogen.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Looks like a genuine victim.
Welcome to CodeProject! Quite many don't watch out for forum guidelines when they make their first post. So you haven't. That's okay! You can move this to a technical forum. How? Delete here and re-post there in SQL Forum . Click[^]

When you said this, I thought he's at least a dozen messages in his account. But man, it's just very second one!. In fact, his first in a forum. The other one being a feedback to an article.
Thought we could show some mercy, but the looong question just vetos itself out!

Hey fellow CP'ians,
me and my collegue are currently getting overwehelmed by a bad style of coding by our boss. Therefore i said whe should send him on a training course, but since i am also interested in progressing forward (e.g. learning new patterns and standards) we both thought it would be good if we also visit such a training.
My first question about, hows your opinion about such things, do you go to trainings to improve your self or do you just learn by trying and failing and finally succeeding? And where do you get your information if you are doing it by yourself?
Second is, does anybody know how to find such trainigs? (Would be awesome if some of our german cp'ians would know anything) Cause i googled, but im not satisfied with the results as patterns i wanted to learn and also c# seems not be a big thing?
Any suggestions how to approach that? And also how to tell my boss he can't code?

I'm sure it would help if you disclosed exactly WHAT type of programming the two of you need training in...

I see, well actually from our side it's more like getting into new standards, maybe learning the deep tricks of Visual Studio, getting a hand on Design Patterns and ways how to approach to and design a software.
The thing is i can't specify it very precisely. I am quite fresh from university, so i have a huge load of ideas and know some stuff but actually i have no idea how to properly implement an observer. How to design my software even more sustainable and with better performance (i tried threading but i am not pleased with the outcome).

I see, more general programming than merely C# for beginners, that is...
But even the more general topics still partly depends on what technologies you work with, eg Visual Studio, Web programming (be it WebForms or MVC) or Desktop programming (be it WinForms or WPF)...
The technologies and frameworks you use in a given situation differ, and even design patters.
So at least a basic knowledge about what type of programming you do could really help recommending intersting courses

Well basic courses in programming are of no value to us, we can code, we were thinking about improving it.
Mainly the focus lies on C# and MSSQL, maybe we'll get in some REST and Json stuff but that's a small percentage.
WPF would be good, i currently fear working with cause i don'T know enough about it. So mainly we use WinForms or console apps for shedule tasks. And of course Visual Studio

The learning curve for WPF is steep, so if you contemplate working with it, it could certainly be a good idea to do a course on it.
And I understand you fear - I tend to do the same, actually...

Two of my colleagues have been to the OOP conference in Munich this year. It,s quite expensive an takes place once a year (end of January, begin of February?) in Munich. According to them it's worth visiting.
Another event is the SoCraTes in Soltau, end of August. This is said to be interesting as well (no personal experience, just hearsay)
