If you sign in using Facebook, they'll then be following everything you do on any site with a Facebook sign in or like button.

So... Bonamassa?
He's on Facebook too and I haven't liked his page, that'll teach him (and you)

Look, if a developer has decided that that's what you want, then that's what you want, OK!
All customers are idiots. They never know what they want.
(I've actually bookmarked this thread, so I can link back to it, the next time someone posts something like the above)

Did you just answer your own question?

It must be a quiet day for you if you need to post facebook updates on this site. Seriously who give a sh*t about facebook recommendations made to YOU. If you want to spend your time faffing around on social media that is fine but really we don't want to know.
And yes it is a quiet morning for me as well
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

I don't want to know about half of the things (probably more) I find in the Lounge, but you don't see me bitching about it
Anyway, I thought it was funny that one of the biggest tech companies in the world maybe made a boo-boo in one of their recommender algorithms, but it seems the term "Facebook" on CP works like red to a bull

Facebook is a CIA honeypot, using other victims to lure eachother, as a positive feedback loop increasing elicitation strategy
ZUKERBERG was given 12.7 million in loans from InQTEL (CIA front company), but the documentary on facebook focuses only on his 500k investment
CHINA was 100% correct to ban facebook

I wonder how the CIA will use my music taste against me.

If u ever took office or was in the way of some US plan, they would post everything bad about Cattle Decapitation on the news (you posted that about hte band)

Well they are vegan, that's true.

I believe it was someone's iTunes that recommended a lot of hip-hop artists after a user was listening to Cattle Decapitation all day. So Apple made a funny too, they might have improved the algorithm though - I don't use Apple products so I wouldn't know.
But I do agree that Facebook often makes these kind of "mistakes". They aren't too successful in recommending music for my taste, not to mention the friends they always recommend, since I "only" have about 150 people on Facebook.

Yo yo, to all my homies in da house!
I listen to Decapitated Cattle, you know I'm digging it on Apple!

Peterhouse Cambridge has to be my favourite team of all time. They look clueless, they act clueless, they dither and dally, they start badly (minus scores are not unknown), their captain lets it all swill and swish around her as if she's orbiting another planet and yet they have just reached the final. I thoroughly recommend a trip to IPlayer* to catch up on the entertainment!
