I might live there now, but I certainly haven't always done, and I don't work there either. I spent many years living in one of the cities with the lowest percentage population of British people.

Exactly.
The world has changed, it has opened up, it is not the EU that has caused that, it is merely a product of it.
Withdrawing from the EU will not cure that.
The only cure is time.
There have been previous waves of immigration into the UK from different parts of the world over its history. All have created issues at the time, all have calmed down over time.
There are far more people living in the UK who were born outside of the EU than were born within it (UK excluded obviously).
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

Again, not wanting to fall foul of the politics thing, let's remember that the people who voted to join back in the 70s, voted to join a Common Market, not a European Union. The pound/Euro thing was tried unsuccessfully back in the 70s through to the early 90s with a common Exchange Rate Mechanism (the UK joined in 1990), with the UK spectactularly crashing out of it on Black Wednesday when currency speculators bet heavily against the pound.
However, I will also add that my comment above does not represent my views on Europe (or most of the professionals that I know here in the UK). I have worked in other countries in the EU and I have enjoyed working there. I have always found the people to be decent and welcoming and I have no problem with the EU. The important thing to remember is that what you hear is just noise - the UK press have entered into a feedback cycle that, unfortunately, will last until June. The important thing here, in the UK, is that we have to actually consider what's best not just for us, but for future generations. I fear this responsibility will not be used wisely.

I've been using the free version of Spotify since last week.
Never really got into it, but now I'm loving it
So anyway, I just noticed uBlock blocked 500 requests, or 58% of the total.
Does that mean Spotify is actually more advertisement than anything else?
*Just noticed the number went up, it's 60% now.
I guess I'm effectively listening to Spotify Premium at no charge
Not sure if I should whitelist them... Ad-less music vs. honest earnings for a good service at the listening expense...

The kids bought the wife a subscription to the premium edition of Spotify a couple of months ago. She loves it. When I finally upgraded her machine to Win 10, the only thing she told me was: "You mess up my Spotify and you're dead!" I must confess my hands trembled a bit when I installed Spotify on 10, but fortunately it worked without problems.

Yes! This comes as a surprise to you? After all that bitching by Sailor Twit about the paltry amount of money they were intending to give her?
