That's the modern world of technology.

I had the same issue when I got my new Nexus 5x. After a bit of Googling and checking out several forums it seems that the recommended app for MMS and SMS is Messenger. Hangouts is still available but is likely to be deprecated at some point.

I wonder how many man-years (Man–year | Definition of Man–year by Merriam-Webster[^] ) have already been wasted by people clicking a window, only to learn that it was the wrong window because the user cannot see the border around the windows any more.
Probably millions of years by now.
And people thought waiting for windows to boot up was a waste of time.

I've also noticed that a lot of web applications these days are using Bootstrap, nothing wrong with that - nice css, but the buttons and links are hard to find. The links on the buttons don't highlight, they're not bold, and there's no border around them. I waste a second or two on some of those websites each and every visit.
And slow drivers need to get out of the fast lane!

I'm talking about the "washed-out" graphic design aka metro aka "i can't tell where anything is and everything is blurred into everything else and there is no contrast"...
But, yours is a nice shot at Java. Though, I believe unrelated directly.

Should've gone to Specsavers[^]?
Can't say that I've ever done this (well, not sober anyway), even in the first days where there was no option to colour the borders! Using the touchscreen (on my Kindle) is an entirely different matter but it's hard to see how you can c**k it up using a mouse!

Hi All,
Lemmy, Bowie, Glenn Frey, Paul Katner & now Maurice White (Earth, Wind & Fire). I'm gonna go see as many music stars as I can before it's too late!!

Not just music stars, Lord Lucan is dead now too.

Well the thing is that after it became easier to record music, more people got famous for it. And now all those people that were famous in the 60's, 70's are going to start dying. And with a lot of people idealizing that era of music, it's only logical that most people will have to say goodbye to a lot of legendary people. Adding the fact that most legendary musicians have a live fast attitude, most won't get to live until they are 80.
But that's the circle of life. Some legends die, others become legends.

On the plus side we won't be very sad in about 50 to 60 years from now

I know this is a late reply, but being in the press and being a legend isn't the same thing. It's a different mentality now anyway - people struggle to be talked about and they don't care if it's bad or good.
But check out Steven Wilson, Dan Swano, Mikael Akerfeldt, Devin Townsend and Tool. They are all involved in so many things that most don't even know about and that's what being a legend is nowadays - at least to me. It's easy to get someone to write about you - hell reporters will take almost anything to write about.
Bieber, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj are the furthest thing from a legend.
You might have been joking, I can't really tell.
EDIT: Found a better way to phrase the difference in mentality. The really good celebrities used to be legends, now they are more like rumours.
