When I think of politicians I think of an old saying; "If you can't dazzle em with brains baffle em with bullshit".
|
|
|
|

As far as politicians go, only the second half of that saying applies.

I'll install Windows 10 when it will be common and old enough to find each and avery crack available. I plan on getting it legally and then crack it up so much that it won't send / download / upgrade anything.
Once I have the licence I'm alright with my country's laws and that's what matters.

Did you upgrade from 7, or did you do a clean install? Upgrading can cause issues at times, but I have never had problems with a clean install. If you have the Win 10 install disc, I would recommend reformatting the system disk, followed by a clean install from the install disc.

Download the ISO file for the disc, then burn the ISO onto a DVD disc. There are different ISOs on the web. Get the one for the latest build (10586). This build will save you a lengthy upgrade to 10586 later. Good luck!

Using the 7 disc will take you back to 7, of course. From my personal experience, I would recommend a little more persistence to get Win 10. Now that I have used 10 for a while, I will not go back to 7.

I know.. I was kidding.
I installed it so I can use it as a test platform for an app I'm working on, so I'll have to fix it

I had a similar situation on an old laptop and thought it was toast.
I created a Win10 USB boot drive (rescue disk - very small) booted from that on the broken laptop and had success installing Win10 and have been okay since.
I think you can get the tool at (a little different than what I did months ago):
Get Windows 10 - and create usb boot tool[^]
Good luck.

Google Media Creation Tool. Download it from Microsoft, run it and Select Windows 10, your Language and Both (x64 and x86). Either burn straight to USB or save as ISO and use Rufus to burn ISO to USB.
Boot from USB and install fresh, don't need a key as Microsoft have stored the hardware key fro your laptop.
