Performance. And not just for games, for apps like Photoshop and even IE/Chrome that now use hardware acceleration for rendering. The web is going 3D whether people realize it or not.

No, I'm doing in stages. I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT, it's an older unit but still serves me well with 2 monitors.
Next phase is video card, case and a new monitor. One of mine is getting real hard to pull out of deep sleep...ie. if left for a hours or so it comes out as it should but in the morning when it's been sleeping all night it takes about 5-10 min to wake up. It's like me it's old and contankerous.

Gotcha.

Just make sure it's one of them cheesy cases with neon lights and crap that makes it look like a worn down broken sign at night for a cheap motel or brothel.

Yeah I'm going for the brothel look!

Don't have the room have to use a mid tower because of the slot that it goes in.

Yeah, I have a perfect little slot in my wall unit to put a horizontal HTPC into but it's just a little too small...still looking for a case that will fit it.

Just install what you use. You can always install other odd applications as you need them.
It keeps your machine a lot cleaner.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do. Last time I did a fresh install I tried to put everything on that I thought I would need and it took forever, well about 3 days.

Very nice, esp. the rainbow time lapse early on in the video. Reminds me a lot of Koyaanisqatsi[^].

Awesome video!
I've been to LA a few times and all were memorable, but not in the good way. Well except one in 67 I climbed up on the Hollywood letters.

The video was nice. It does convey the hyperkinetic, stroboscopic anthill nature of Los Angeles pretty well.
LA is an okay place to visit, but I couldn't live there. Drive two hours to find a decent place to ride my bike? You've got to be kidding.

Why? There are a multitude of really good trails within 20 minutes of where I am and hundreds more within an hour.

I ride a road bike, which means I want lightly-traveled roads or bike paths nearby.
I'm a small town kind of person. I've visited LA a couple of times, and I can't imagine myself being happy in that area.

If you find yourself losing and in need of extra motivation, just imagine that he talked smack about your woman. It worked for Orlando Bloom!
