As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's hinny. It's the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.
And you tell me to exercise?? Where did you get that wisdom??

Well that's what I said to my sports teacher at school he made do another circuit of the cross country for that!,
Wow it's raining here in Bristol!!

You actually did cross country runs?
I think I did about 1/3 of a cross country run, then I just didn't turn up for sport "lessons" again...got reasonable reports each year as well, so I'm not sure who he was marking...

Well that what they were called, 'long wander in the grassy field when you went under the railway bridge' out of sight would be more accurate!

I had to do them, but I found that being a straggler made it easy to walk the course

He probably figured that since you did not show up, you was still out running...

I always figured that if he had four more IQ points, he would have been able to tie his own shoes, and wouldn't need to be a PE teacher...

0 + 4 is still a PE teacher.... He would have just been a tiny bit smarter than lawyers and politicians.

Our school cross country course was [0] about 3 miles, [1] went past my front door and [2] used the woodlands I'd played in since I was 4.
Needless to say I never stopped at home for a can of coke and some bikits, and then rejoined the rest near to the finish.

wouldn't happen today you'd be murdered or molested within seconds of exiting the house,
I guess today the cross country runs have heavy police escorts with air support and full medical trauma team on call
