Now they should put menues back in Office.

May be it's just me but I did not find any issues using W8. I used it for 10 days. May be it is because I make very little use of mouse. I prefer running command straight from the run dialog.

My suggestion to MS would be to keep the windows 8 start screen but as a live wallpaper to the desktop which means you cannot have small icons on your desktop but only the windows 8 start screen. Hence the users are not confused as well as the beauty of the live tile is preserved

This is a complicated issue.I dont't think windows 8 was that bad.
But it appears the microsoft doesn't understand that people will complain when they try to rush a system to make a new sale. Or the importance of testing the system with users. It seems that someone said "looks ok, let's sell it"...

I've been using and developing desktop apps on Win8 for at least a ear now. Honestly, it doesn't give me any problems and I switch back and forth to Win 7 effortlessly.
The only "discomfort" I experienced was a few days of wondering where things were. Not unlike switching to other versions of Windows over the years.

Hi All,
I have been a grouch/miserable over the last few weeks with a project lacking data, not really understanding the problem. I have made a few posts here miserable as sin, sorry( ). Finally Boss man saw the light and told me to do so & so, doing so and so, customer coming over Monday they both need my the thing I am working on to work so it arms, elbows in to it. I did find a bug in the paper work which had me stumped for a time and led to some odd Q&A questions (answered by PK Fox & Griff Thanks guys!) with out that problem I would have got much further. Running on & very little else! But I will get something completed today and now back to the fun!.
Thanks All for putting up with me!

It was broke, so I fixed it.

For once I thought I am reading email. Take a break, talk about something totally unrelated and come back to problem. Often helps me.

And...and...it's POETS day!
So take the battery out of the phone, grab a tent and bugger off somewhere for the weekend where VB can't find you!

Congratulations! It's a good feeling knowing that you will actually finish.
I ran into something similar in my PhD research. Darn program just wouldn't give the right answers. I finally tracked it down to a typo in some technical papers, which had been copied by others and put into other source code. Everyone said they tested it, but no one actually tested it over the range of parameter I'm interested in.
Once I found that, everything works fine and I can match experimental data within the measurement accuracy with my numerical models. So, after about 3 or 4 months of fighting and banging my head, I finished that and another module and wrote the documentation in a week. Now 2 more modules to write, then test, then I can finish my dissertation and get ready to defend it.
As you said, it is frustrating, but the feeling of relief and joy when you finally see a light at the end of the tunnel is fantastic!

Nice beer. But how many more do you need to drink before you can pronounce it properly?

Writing it's name is also a problem, as I see.

You need to introduce the site to Google, as it couldn't find it when I had a look.

I'd only just started and would ahve thought the brewery would have wanted to be found.

Persuading MM to follow that advice is like persuading you to keep breathing air. Or to have another piece of chocolate...

Oh come on. You misspelled it's name and/or typed something strange like "zywiec porter" and expect to find something relevant.
Instead you should type "zywiec beer" and it is 1st on list of google results.
Google is as much smart as user who use it
Grupa Żywiec is really big brewery owned by Heineken (you should know that one I guess) which produces plenty of beers.
You cannot expect it to put money into SEO of all its brands and kinds of brands (Żywiec is brand of beer and Porter is kind of beer) in all possibilities of typing in all alphabets.
Anyway it is nice that Polish beer is even in XXX ( http://baltimorereads.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/the-last-continent-terry-pratchett/[^])
Have a good time
