Ok, I don't use Windows 8. So Sunday when I had to load a DVD of pictures up for a slide show it was my first attempt.
On windows 7
1) Open Directory
2) Double Click image
3) Done
On Windows 8
1) Wait for action after inserting DVD
2) Decide nothing is happening
3) Browse to file
4) Can't find way to browse
5) Click explore from the popup that finally appears
6) Double click image discover no slide show feature
7) Goto Start
8) Slide for Slide Show App
9) Discover that I have to import the DVD to an approved location to view
10) Wait
11) Finally get to the slide show 15 minutes later (no hyperbole)
Ok, I understand a lot of this is from my in-experience. But, making a novel process doesn't necessarily improve it? If something is simple, fast, and well understood why change it?
I am sure if I knew how to get to Desktop mode I may have been able to do it faster.

[Windows Logo Key - d] simultaneously gets you to the desktop where you will be more familiar with the setup.
I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts to get around. Google "keyboard shortcuts for windows" to get a list of useful ones.

But will it teach you how to do useful things with your computer?

Since I run Windows 7 and I know that the registration process occurs there as well, this step should appear under that list as well.

I use 7+Taskbar and Classic Desktop

Start8 is only $5 US, and will render Win 8 usable: [^].
“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.”
“How do you know I'm mad?” said Alice.
“You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn't have come here.” Lewis Carroll

Maybe I should come out with a widget to make the desktop look like Windows 3.11 so it will be in a familiar format.
Windows 8 is usable out of the box. I know people are resistant to change. Maybe we should get a petition together to return Windows XP as the next edition of Windows.
Take the time to learn Windows 8. It is the way Windows is going in the future.
Alternatively, use Linux or buy an iSomething.

I got a Daisy BB gun for Christmas when I was about 12 and the same day my brother shot my sister in the leg so that was the end of my BB gun.

I bought a puppy on Saturday, (Miniature Schnauzer) and took a couple of days off to train him.
Took him for jabs today and have been playing around in the garden.
So much easier than working!
Working on the house training, reckon I will have him clean by the week end.

Never had a Schnauzer, big or little, but at the end of the first week mine always just looked at me and said "What you talkin about Willis!"
Maybe it was the trainer?
