You get the last tree that fell in the yard cut, split and stacked when another falls...that's even bigger. ARG

What is this "tree" of which you speak?
Will Rogers never met me.

Oak Tree about 2' in diameter and about 60' tall.
And the bitch is that it fell back towards a creek in our back yard so some of it will be tricky to get out.
That and I can only work a short time in the morning as its 80 degrees with feels like in the 90s.
I'm too old for this sh*t!

Ouch! Of course, my pity is abated somewhat by it being 120°+ here this week. Still, standing in front of a casino Thursday in this heat, watching fireworks over the Colorado River, is something I'd rather be doing than trimming a giant oak tree, in any temperature! Go slow, and take frequent breaks, Mike!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate...
I remember growing up in Phoenix, there was a week where it was 120+ and all we had was a swamp cooler.
It was hot, damn hot.

We don't burn wood to heat but we have a friend that does and we have given her so much wood that her and her brother are set for several years.

And it's risen by 30% this year - an extra £60!
So I look around to find out why and it turns out that's not bad - the average rise in the UK this year is 43%. Bloody glad I'm not still 17 ... they pay an average of £3,145
I'm still going to shop around, but ... looks like it might be not too bad a price after all.

Yeah - I guess the increase in value due to the cost of EVs has helped push the cost up generally, even if you don't drive an EV (because I can't charge one anywhere near home).
I just tried a couple of the "insurance comparison" sites, and they couldn't get below the renewal price - the closest was £30 more!
I'm really, really glad I'm not 17 any more ...

The old car we just kept about the same, I think an extra £10, but it is terrible.
Looking forward to the main car in the Autumn, I'm expecting an extra £200 at least.

I just glad my car is a (relatively) low insurance group: 15E
For a laugh, I checked the group for Teslas - they start at 36 and go up to 50! Try buying an EV when you are 17 ...

18 years ago I paid a bit under $1500/yr for my car insurance.
Today it's a bit under $1400/yr. It's the same car. It's 18 years old and now practically worthless. Never claimed anything.
