Some good suggestions in there for sure, thanks for that. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be writing code, so #2 is out. I'm not sure how I would use #3. Host a file with that code on a web server running somewhere, and load it in a separate browser tab?
That leaves #1. Some ideas there sounded promising, but so far, they all failed.
Maybe I should just get Homer's keyboard duck to tap on the display every few seconds...

Is it a touch screen?
If yes,
Get a string, something like a crazy ball that will be recognized as a touch, and a small fan.
Hang the ball on the screen and point the fan at it.
Don’t stare at it too long or you might be hypnotized.

I REALLY hope not! I've just started bee keeping and gotten my first hive (seriously).
I'd hate to see bears coming out of it, and without ears, they wouldn't be able to hear me yell "Noooooo, please don't eat me!"

Yeah, but think of the amount of honey a hive full of bears could produce!

For three days, because they have found a single "in the wild" case: New Zealand plunged back into snap lockdown after single Covid case detected[^]
Well done NZ! That's the way to handle it, rather than pussy footing around ...
The really interesting bit is at the end, where it talks about the Delta Variant:
Quote: Officials earlier on Tuesday outlined details of unrelated virus cases found at a border quarantine facility in Auckland that showed how easily the delta strain spreads.
An investigation found three people sharing a room were infected by a delta case staying across the corridor after their doors were both open at the same time for just three to five seconds.
There (presumably) has to be more to it than that, but ...

Rule by fear.
The reactions of governments is now beyond ridiculous. The virus is here to stay and no amount of lockdowns, quarantines or red lists is going to change that. The sooner we all get back to normal the sooner we (and future generations) will be able to live with it.

Richard MacCutchan wrote: The sooner we all get back to normal the sooner we (and future generations) will be able to live with it. I can't imagine, that we'll be able to "go back to normal". But I agree that we should accept it is here to stay (at least for a good while) and try to evolve and adapt, creating a newer version of "normal". Trying to live respecting it, but not fearing it to the point of shutting everything down every few months.

The lockdowns are not for stopping the virus in it's tracks.
They're for slowing down the spread so hospitals are not overrun to beyond capacity, like is happening in the South right now.

I know... and I actually am not against them. But it pisses me a bit off, how they are being politized and partially missused.

I think "normal" is gone forever. What is "normal" by the way? I disagree that it is "rule by fear".

I really doubt all it took was two doors to be open for 5 seconds. If it were spreading that easily, then every country where Delta is present would have been overwhelmed.
Cheers,
Vikram.

It's a very popular style: whatever the government does is equated to some sort of Orwellian overreach. It's easier than accepting that, like it or not, everyone does not have the right to do whatever they want. That the rights of other people in the world exist and may, at times, interfere with their own rights. That their decisions may negatively impact others. That . . . when it really comes down to it, their mindset is an endless "me first".

I know, right? Ask them for the last instance of "government control" and you get crickets.
In my humble opinion, the last time we ever came anywhere close to "government control" was when over 2 million people were drafted for the Vietnam war.
But according to them, "wear a mask?! Oh, the horror of government control!"

Don't forget the Science bit: the vaccine includes a government tracking chip that can monitor everything you do!
Without ever needing charging, although their mobile phone with a much, much bigger battery struggles to last a whole day ... and already monitors everything they say, and everywhere they go.
Consistency: that's probably fake news as well.
