I have a W10 Insider edition VM that I use for testing programs and client domain stuff. While testing a planned server upgrade PDC, I opened that VM and put it in the cloned PDC. I upgraded the PDC to a new server (both in an ESXi system) and when I went to log in to that testing W10 VM, it required a restart. Tada! it came up W11! I guess that is OK since it works.
My virtual machine host is a 6 year old Linux system and does not meet the supposed new hardware requirements for W11. I guess they are not checking before installing in the pre-release version.

If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

My understanding from reading the MS Windows team blogs is they aren't enforcing the minimum hardware standards right now. Instead what they're doing is reading the hardware configuration and checking to see if it supports the enhanced security they're targeting. This is to allow more machines to upgrade to Windows 11 when it releases.

It has its downside too... I have to go to check up and getting my 2nd shot, so if anything goes sideways I will have to manage solo too.
But I hope to not have any secondary bad effects

Good luck with that. I was a little tired the next day but nothing else. I had an app for that.

If right, I'm just relieved. It's only the second one in about 2 weeks I've got and I kept quiet that time as I couldn't do the next day.
Tomorrow however is good although apologies if it's slightly late.

Oops, got that wrong though.
So I guess I am up tomorrow but just been summoned to the office so what could possibly go wrong ...

I don't get it... sure, door = entrance. But what about "carry away"?
It is meant to be in relation to the other definition of "putting in a trance"?

Yes, entrance someone = carry someone away.

Carry away == entrance:
Definition of entrance (Entry 2 of 2)
transitive verb
1: to put into a trance
2: to carry away with delight, wonder, or rapture

- but only in the most trivial sense ...
So, having thought myself "cured" and decided I had written my last program, I found myself with boring and non-urgent jobs to do today.
And the thought struck me of a trivial weekly task I have that does take 5-10 minutes and needs my brain to be semi-working.
This involves some very trivial arithmetic and some date/time calculations. I decided a simple Winforms app and an absolute max of 1 hour to start, finish, publish and forget.
Combine rustiness with, surprise, surprise, an eternity playing around with foreground and background colours, font sizes, layouts etc (I do hate boring grey forms!) - 2.5 hours later ...
Until tomorrow when I use it in anger and decide all the above needs changing, probably for no good reason.
That was definitely my last program. Honest.

Next, you will need to create a project management program, to keep track of how much time you spend twiddling colors! 😄

I doubt it. Programming is like heroin, or pop corn, once you start you will never stop.
As to time scale estimates, it always takes longer than your most pessimistic estimate. Project creep is my biggest enemy.
No plan survives the battle.
