Hey there guys! I'd love some input from the community and any opinions on code hosting services. Our trusty old in-house server, which ran a local subversion server (among other things) just died this week, and we're thinking of moving to a hosted service. There are many comparison websites out there, but I'd prefer input from someone with first-hand experience with these services (reliability, security, suppport...)
I've been looking at Assembla, BeanStalk, ProjectLocker and a few others. Anyone here using such service? Or do you prefer keeping the sources on a dedicated server you have control of? Thanks!

Have a look @ TFS service. I use it at home for my .Net and Android development projects and would recommend it. It is currently free for up to 5 developers.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that we need to stay with SVN for now, Git support is nice if we decide to move in that direction in the future, but the SVN requirement is critical right now. The TFS service looks nice, will bookmark it for reference.

Looks like they only support tfs and git. The OP is using subversion, so unless they want to move away from svn at the same time, that won't work.
I have used Project Locker for both svn and git. Has been reliable and has reasonable pricing.

I use it too and have not had any trouble with it.

Have used codespaces.com in the past, and they have been perfect for my use and needs, at least

I have lots of opinions on hosting services. Most of them are expletives.
<edit>should have been an answer to the op.</edit>
<Edit2>should not have been answered at all</Edit2>

I'm interested in negative experience too
Did you run into any trouble with some provider in the past, or you don't like the idea of hosting the code?

You should not consider my reply at all. I just saw the 'code' part of 'code hosting services'.
sorry.

I use them too. Though, they did screw up one of my accounts, so I lost all of my code for that account.

We use beanstalk and I have been VERY happy with it. Rock solid for subversion, which is what we use here. Does exactly what we need at a reasonable price, I HIGHLY recommend it....
