All I did was update my resume on dice. I figured that if I had a good job now, I might as well keep an eye out for the perfect one. You know, like 60k for part time telecommute. That sort of thing. or 100k living in Utah. Just the normal stuff like that.
Now, I am getting contacted out the wahzoo Some of these offers are really good looking, but I'm probably holding out for the high paid telecommute job mentioned above.
Things are going well now, so I can't see doing something like that. If I did it wouldn't be until after my review in July.

That sounds very promising. It has been years since I updated my resume. After 12 years with the same company, I might have to go out there and start looking soon. Real soon. Like next week.

Yeah, it sounds like a long time to me too, but I am sure a lot of members here have me beat. I would not say that time just flew by, but here we are.

nothing planned. My daughter was in volleyball season, so I took that time off from the gym to make sure I was at all her games, and that she could make all the practices. I have been working hard on my fitness lately. I was just worried about cutting weight all the way up to my first fight. Since I have been on break I've been focused on foot speed, weight training, etc.
I'm not sure if I'm scheduling anything else or not. It's hard to be a family man, and a fighter I've got from now until August to decide. My daughter starts another sport then, so if I do train and get a fight in, I'd have to go on break again when track starts.

I have the solution; your daughter's next sport will be fighting.

she took BJJ for a while, but wasn't really interested at the time. I think that she will be later.
she's preparing for a karate tournament coming up soon. She's been sparring with her cousins, and doing pretty well.

I don't think he does.

That's good... it's always nice to feel like a hot commodity. Don't forget though, people always tend to have a "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality when they're a little unhappy about something, but every position is going to have positive and negative aspects, so weigh your options before jumping to a conclusion. With that said though... it's still great to feel like you have the right skills that make people want to call.

I would assume these offers are bait to get you more involved with their agency, when you inquire further they disappear into vapour wear. I'm actually looking forward to a change of contract after 8 years, it will mean a change of country and hopefully a change of industry. Probably won't happen as they have another 3 years work mapped out and some bastard keeps finding new things they want built!
