A completely unrelated question...
How many conspiracy theories do you believe?
Could you list them in order of your belief level?
...just curious.

How do you get DO for party?
|
|
|
|
|
It is a slang word in English for any sort of get together. "I'm going to a do", can just mean, "I am going out to enjoy myself". And is commonly used in crossword clues.

Okay. Is this CP specific crossword clue? I Googled a bit but couldn't find any such reference.

The English Wiktionary is an amazing resource. It's becoming much better than those other online dictionaries filled with advertisements.

No, you can find it in Crosswords in any UK publication. Even The Times and The Spectator, both of which have quite fiendish crosswords.

I'm getting my internet service through pcsforpeople.org, but the d@mn device fried, and the only way this firm allows for a purchase of a new device is to have it shipped "within 3 to 5 business days"
So I am looking for some type of "emergency service" that I can have in my back pocket to use at any time. It must be through mobile service.

I don't know what's available in the swamp, but here I'd just go to the local supermarket and buy a throwaway SIM. "Includes 20GB Data for use within 30 days" sort of deal.
My A$50/mo phone has 40GB of data per month included, so it's not an issue to me if the landline goes down.

Here in Australia we get pretty good mobile phone plan now.. I have like 50GB (or more, not really sure), with my $40 per month plan
There was a special (still going on?) where one could get that for $9!

Emergency service is just to set your phone as a wifi hotspot - most can do that.
For an Android phone, it's pretty simple:
Open the Settings app.Select "Mobile Network"Select "Tethering and mobile hotspot"Select "Personal Hotspot"Tap on Wi-Fi hotspot. It's pretty obvious from there.
Then just contact your phone service provider and make sure you have a data plan of some form (Vodafone in the UK have a "big value data" you can add immediately for £10, which gives you 3GB of data (plus an extra 3GB) which lasts a month. If you don't the charges are normally ... um ... excessive per MB.

In France, we have one provider who lets you connect to WiFi from other access points in the neighbourhood for such cases. It is quite slow, but comes very handy.

I need to implement two functions on an apple machine
One to map a file into process address space using vmem
One to unmap said file
And then I need to test it.
I do not own an apple, and i never will.
But I'd like to at least support a major optimization for the platform.

You might try a rantal service. Your local office supply house might have a line to one.
For that matter, your local Apple store might be willing to let you 'borrow' a refurb machine or something like that with a handshake and $100 cash.

There's an idea. I'll just walk in and be like, "what do i have to do to get a machine with a clang compiler on it for about an hour?" and enjoy the looks I get.
