I don't really have a point per say. I just thought it was interesting.
I quite often don't have any point to what I am saying. doesn't stop me from saying it though. heck Jerry Seinfeld made a career out of that.

And for me at least, gmail too.
Just had to drive to the office to confirm it wasn't a problem at my end.
Had multiple unread emails on several accounts to deal with. So normally, this might involve enforced relaxing but the the entire house is upside down due to decorators being "in" - this is not a good scenario.
Might be forced into shopping or something equally hideous.

Just figured out , the whole suite of google services are down.

Seems to be up for me. In the midwest USA.
Might be location dependent or might just be they resolved their issues.

Eastern USA, Google is up.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Maybe it's a warning shot (for EU, &etc) to stop trying to use Google's success as a source of funds with their endless lawsuits.
They do, actually, have them all by those proverbial short hairs.

It's going to be interesting to find out what happened.
How something as big as Google can simply go down all at once boggles my mind, what with their distributed servers etc.
There again I don't understand infrastructure.
I googled "is Google down" and I got back a page saying "No", I guess getting back a "Yes" is not a possibility?

I doubt it. They'll just continue posting it in QA, and expect someone else to do it for them.

I was so tempted to ask a QA question asking for the "codez pleaze!" with regards to Google being down.

... until Season 5 of Expanse drops.
Well, the first three episodes, anyway.
And Discovery / Grand Tour this week as well!
That's more watchable TV than there has been all last month ...

And only 318 days until the final book is released.

Yes! I've been watching the series over again, and there's so much more that I "get" in watching it again. Great series.

I re-read the books a week ago!

My coworker's BF loved the books - it's on my list - apparently the books are much better (as is often the case) none-the-less, I think the series stands very well on its own, of course, I'm saying that with the ignorance of not having read the books.

Got tickets for The Forgotten Battle[^] that would be shown in Dutch cinema's in december, but now it looks like cinema's will be closed due to Corona measures.

I suspect the cinema as we knew it will never recover fully: The Covid closures may well change habits enough to destroy what will be left once they can "properly reopen".
Who wants to watch a movie in a room full of noisy strangers eating overpriced rubbish food, while you can't have a drink, or go for a pee without missing a good chunk?

Yes! I look forward to it, even if the writers do not always understand the laws of physics, it is still very entertaining!
