Where am I? I appear to be at the bottom of a dark, deep hole. Now what does that remind me of?

Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to take you to the bridge. Call that job satisfaction, 'cause I don't.

If you find one that does, please refer him/her/whatever to me. I have a hell of a time dealing with old issues!

Talk about random thoughts and I wasn't even high at the time, but it seemed a relevant question. Can quantum computers be applied to bitcoin mining? I mean I don't expect so or I probably would have heard of it. Any related thoughts?

Hmm.... is the blockchain quantum-safe?
If not, then it eventually means a lot of free money for someone until the news gets out.
A post-Bitcoin Quantumcoin? I see that quantumcoin.com is already taken (apparently by a writer).

Kudos to E(ugene).C. Myers... apparently he has written a lot about the potential for Quantum Physics on Crypto.
Sadly QuantumCoin.com takes you to http://ecmyers.net/novels/ which is empty, which means he's still writing a book and set the record straight that he has the edge on this.

I saw a video on this and apparently quantum computing can tackle some aspects of crypto but not everything, it's not a magic bullet. There are some specific algorithms it can help break though.

|
|
|

Perhaps. Grover's Algorithm can be applied to almost any problem that looks like "solve f(x) = c", even if f calculates a hash. It's not an exponential speedup though, and I'm not sure how it deals with accepting a lot of different c's (as mining only requires k leading zeroes in the hash, not a single specific hash).

There are algorithms that are resistant to quantum computing; Bitcoin, banks, etc. will need to evolve in step.

Sí, es posible. Alguien con un ordenador cuantico tiene mas posibilidades de encontrar el hash correcto y así ganar la bonificacion del nuevo bloque en la blockchain.

Yes, it's possible. Someone with a quantum computer has more probabilities to find the correct hash and win the bonification of the new block in the chain.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

If you can figure the math... go ahead, they're billions of dollars to be made by using Quantum to compute Hashes... but nobody yet, has figured out how to do it.

I have an electrician coming to do some work between approximately 09:00 and 09:30. This means that I will not be online for the early times of this CCC so I apologise in advance for not being able to give timely responses to your solutions.
<edit> Electrician now not coming until 10:00. I expect this CCC to be solved before then!

I got a idea and i think it might work. i have a idea and that is to create a application such as teamviewer but with some difference is that a user should be able to use his pc to game on a mobile, like a cloudgaming but being able to put the hardware accelration on a pc and get the feed of it on a mobile. If anyone is interested to work please mail me at [DELETED]@gmail.com.
