Shaving and showering your teeth can help remove the taste of toothpaste before you drink the juice.

Stretches out the time between toothpaste and OJ.

Nah, it's definitely cause of the mint flavour. Else why they not invented mint flavoured orange juice yet?

Now, in hindsight, I could have looked this up but I don't really have an interest in that flavor combination. Chocolate Mint - now that's nice.

Since the acid in the orange juice will rot the teeth, you should use toothpaste after OJ (or most any "juice").

A sensitive issue I know... but as a freelancer, I often get asked by clients / ex-clients if I know of anyone "available" for a particular job (either a project or a permie role). I've tentatively hinted at some of these on here before, but am aware that CP (and the lounge specifically) really isn't the place for this. Any board that provides this tends to get hi-jacked by agencies.
And yes.. I have someone looking for a permie, on-site role south of London...

I can't think of anywhere even vaguely relevant that doesn't get hijacked by lazy incompetent recruiters: look at LinkedIn. We certainly get our share of 'em coming up in moderation.
There is nowhere here on this site I can think of that won't get you tarred with the same brush! And think of it this way: do you really want to be associated with a recommended employee who may look good here, but be a PITA to work with in reality?
My general response to that kind of question is that I can't think of anybody offhand, but I'll ask around.

Which is exactly what I'm doing - asking around. But where to ask where the largest pool of "talent" I know doesn't have the facility to ask the question? This isn't a gripe - I've been in other fora which get totally hi-jacked by agents, either blatantly or in disguise - and I wouldn't want CP to suffer that fate. Because I've worked remotely for most of the past 15 years, and especially during lockdown, there are few opportunities to meet people face to face (especially where the requirements are not that close a fit to my own skill set).

You could possibly suggest that any interested party send you a private email. But blatant advertising will most likely start a flame war against you. IIRC there used to be a jobs forum here many years ago; I think it was closed for the reasons mentioned by OG.

I'm confused, why do you care?
If you don't already have a specific person in mind when you get asked, then what benefit is it for you to go and find a stranger on their behalf? Just say "no" and leave the recruiting to them.
|
|
|
|
|
Because life isn't just about "what benefit is it to me"?
There was an occasion only this year where I needed to find someone for a specific role. It turns out that someone I've not met, but know on here by reputation and interaction and believe to be a reputable, skilled developer was available and would have been interested, but missed out on the opportunity. Granted, it wouldn't have "benefited" me directly (other than maybe earning a beer or two's credit with the person needing help) but, as was discussed in this very lounge in the past couple of days, CP is a bit of a family and hopefully we help each other out.
I'm also at the "tail end" of my career, and over the past 40 years have benefitted from other people giving me opportunities or sharing knowledge when they didn't have to. I guess I believe in the notion of "paying it forward".

Sharing knowledge, yes; but I prefer to not see a recruiter here that blabbers about "great opportunities".
If someone is looking to hire, he should go to where people go to look for work.

Imperial Triumphant - Atomic Age[^]
I'm sort of repeating myself, I don't think one band ever had two SOTW's in such short succession, but this one's special.
I only recently discovered this band because they'd be releasing a new album soon.
That was about two months ago and the new album will be released next week and I'm really looking forward to it!
In the meantime, they released some songs, the latest of which is Atomic Age.
Again, this song is no easy listening even if you're into metal.
To be honest, even I wasn't fond of this new song the first time I heard it, but give it some time and you'll discover new things every time and it's awesome (if you have the stomach for it)

That was the one! I just assumed you posted that, but it seems NiN is popular on here
Anyway, nice album

I'm not much of a NiN fan, it just hapened to be playing and I figured I'd break up my usual Trance-fest with something different. Should have posted this one, since it's kinda pretty for depressing music. Some of Reznor's work with Ross is nice.
