That thing up there to the left a bit. Latest news, jokes, etc.
More often than not it just says "no messages found". This has bugged me for a while as I always like to keep up with the jokes posted in here.
So, why it always breaking? I assume there is an acceptable reason for it otherwise I expect it would have been fixed long ago.

Ok, just did.
I would have posted in there originally, but it feels like it's been a problem for so long that I figured somebody would just have a logically reason for why it happens and it wasn't considered a bug.

Well that's annoying! I'd never noticed the 'latest posts' thing, until you said.... And now I keep trying it - and getting "no messages found".
This is functionality that I didn't know about until 5 minutes ago. And it's now a matter of loaf and death, Gromit. I need it fixing.

Quest Super Elf Single Board 1802 basierte Mikrocomputer-Vintage OVP - | eBay[^]
It's just the basic, unexpanded computer. Looks like all optional parts are installed, but it's still just the basic computer. I probably would get a little more for my old Elf II. Don't I have the expansion board for this Super Elf lying around here? It was in bad shape when I got it. All ICs are gone, but should be obtainable. The two S-100 slots look intact, but the IC sockets are worn out and the capacitors are crumbling away. Desoldering practically everything may be a little hard on the old circuit board, but with it the Super Elf could go for at least twice as much.

Do you think US $700 is a reasonable price?

For that same price I can buy a computer that actually works, so no

Well, it used to cost about 100 - 150 $ in 1978. Account for inflation and we are not so far off. These computers were not built by millions and by now there should not be too many left. So, if you are a collector...
Not that I ever would sell my old Elf II. I had to scrape the mony together on a monthly 'income' of about 20$ (plus mercenary work, like mowing lawns).

Why refer to ebay as fleabay? I presume that it is an insult? I have gotten lots of good things on ebay. I don't like how much they charge to sell things and I don't like that they took over half.com and got rid of it, but that's not enough to use a derogatory name. At least not enough for me to do it.

Maybe it's just supposed to mean that the stuff on sale there is flea-bitten.

Some of it is, I'm sure, but there's tons of good stuff on there.

Feel free to laugh at me: I didn't understand that it was a reference to ebay! I was simply assuming that it was a similar service but dedicated to old, used, worn stuff. A network version of a flea market.

Don't think too much about it: Flea market - Wikipedia[^]

Ya, I know what a flea market is. But it's more effort to call it fleabay than ebay so just curious.

Vök - In The Dark[^]
This SOTW is inspired by @David-ONeil who recommended Vök in last week's SOTW.
He didn't recommend this song, but I just listened to their latest album that opens with this song.
The album has been on every day since then.
It's quite poppy, sometimes danceable, sometimes relaxed and sometimes a bit gloomy, Wikipedia calls it "dream pop and indietronic".
They're from Reykjavík, Iceland, so that may explain the weird name.
Here's what I could find about that:
Etymology
From Old Norse vǫk, from Proto-Germanic *wakwō.
Noun
vök f (genitive singular vakar, nominative plural vakir)
(hydrology) a hole in the ice, a polynya
(nephology) a break or an opening in clouds Source: vök - Wiktionary[^]
So I guess they just made it to WOTW (Word of the Week) as well
