A hat of the proper kind is quite valuable against HIV.

I am the same, this kind of stupidity really annoys me.
However, I also understand that these kind of statements are caused because the general public reader is even more stupid. What is common sense to some of us is unfortunately not common sense to the majority.
People will lick toilets then complain when they get ill saying "well, nobody said NOT to lick them". Then next week there will be a sign "DO NOT LICK TOILETS. MAY CAUSE SICKNESS".
Living on this planet is a daily struggle.

We have a regular event at our local Club for which we use a supplier to bring in food and I get the joy of doing the admin.
This week I had a phone call as a gentleman was desperate to change his order of chicken to fish as he considered chicken too high a coronavirus risk.

I guess the sensible thing to do in that situation is just bite your tongue, agree to process the request, and try and forget the conversation even happened as soon as possible

tell him fish has a higher risk of Ross River,
if he chooses beef, JKD (or whatever it's called now)
...
I mean just for the fun of it put him off off all the choices except tofu.
later on when eating remark loudly how "juicy" your [choice of] meat is.

Very true. The posters made in India about the virus feel very obvious but still, it's much needed. Just thinking about the folks in rural areas. They are the majority.
And most importantly think about our Prime Minister and all the politicians. They would be the number #1 consumer for these posters.

I'm blaming your legal system where you can sue for anything and actually expect to win often enough.
Then again, Alex Jones is selling Anti Corona toothpaste...

I have a good friend who works as a barrister in Leeds.
The stories he's told me implies that the US should be very very afraid of taking over.

Remember that most warnings signs are there because someone has actually tried to do what the sign's warning you about.
Think about that.

You may think of that when you consider moral laws, laws that makes "unnatural" acts illegal.
If it really was the case, that the acts were unnatural, people wouldn't act that way, there wouldn't be any need to make it illegal. Just let people behave naturally! Yet, scores of nations have found a need to curb the way people naturally behave, labeling it "unnatural" behaviour.
In scores of cultures, people do behave in ways that we (un)naturally behave ... and it turns out not to cause any problem at all, in those cultures. Then we arrive with our claims that those acts are really unnatural and immoral and we must throw people in the pit for doing what has been perfectly normal, with no devastating effects, at least not until we appeared on the scene.
Today, the Norwegian media are full of messages from the authorities: There is no reason whatsoever for you to stock up a lot of food in your home! Food stores will remain open, in spite of Corona. We repeat: Do not stock up food. ... So before the day is over, the food stores will be scraped empty of all at least all canned and dried food, and a lot of other stuff as well. Any sign "Do not touch this sign" is an invitation to touch it. I think signs and moral laws have something in common: Warning against it makes it a lot more tempting to do it.
The purpose of laughable signs (and laws and whatever) is not primarily to keep people from doing silly things, but so that you can say: Don't blame me for them doing it! I had put up a sign!

I'll give you a quote Quote: People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. That is true, I've seen it to many times in my life. Technically they are not idiots of stupid, but it is hard to tell when they follow the first fool to speak up.
I've never been a sheep, but most people are. We just have to learn to live with it. Unfortunately the majority rules, even if they are sheep.

Truth....
Here in Atlanta, we've shutdown an entire county full of schools while they "clean" and "disinfect". Apparently, a teacher came to work already feeling ill, and by the afternoon was hauled away in an ambulance. And this person teaches... What officials may not realize is that as soon as the children come back to school, the germs and virises will be back. They already know that there is almost no impact on the young (Who is getting sick? A look at coronavirus risk by age, gender, and more[^]).
Then there is the guy who felt ill, had himself tested and got on a plane where he received the test results. Some days, my head hurts from the stupidity.

Thank you for forwarding the advice you got from the Internet. I will take it to heed. I was misinformed to think that burying a dead chicken in the yard would ward it off.
On a more serious note, we are somewhat hunkered down only surfacing for required life support things.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

Of course a burying dead chicken won't work; you're supposed to make chicken soup from it!
