I had my internet upgraded to fiber yesterday. Now I have 1 Gbs speed that is awesome, but I have to reset all my WiFi passwords.

It's always pings and roundabouts, I guess.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I have a Nest smart thermostat for my HVAC and her majesty needs her Netflix soap operas.so I have to connect things to the new faster network, no big deal, as long as it works.

The last time I drove in London, don't worry, I have no plans to do it again,
Roundabouts were the most confusing thing I encountered. I swear they must have a black hole in the center of them. After about 5 trips around, I think I must have crossed the event horizon, then , all of a sudden, I popped out again.

I've heard they tend to confuse americans.
Think of them as "traffic lights where you can turn right on red if it's clear" and then swap the sides of the road. They can work a lot more effectively than lights, if designed right.

That really depends on the route you plan to take. If you plan to finger or something, then of course yes.
But it is a *nix network command. OK, OK, off I go. I'll get my coat. Crap, I don't even wear a coat.

Glass or carbon fiber?
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I don't know. Glass I assume, since it's fiber optic cable.

It was a joke. It must be glass fiber. Carbon fiber is better for fast sports cars or aircraft.

Yeah and those things are supposed to comunicate at the speed of light. Carbon is black, so it would be at the speed of Dark.

When I had 25Mb/s I could still stream (Roku) on two TV's at once. All this sales pitch that you need 100 Mb/s 200 Mb/s 980 Mb/s - I don't get it - unless you're sharing with an entire sorority or something (in which keys I, at least, would be busy with other things).
Basically, with net congestion as it is, who'll send you data fast enough to need much of that at all? Spammers and telemarketers, I guess.

980Mb/s? You'll need that next year just to cope with Java and Adobe updates ...

I specifically requested a straight up router (no wifi) from my ISP and have always used my own router for wifi. Mostly this is because I run several web services through a static IP and need to manage the routing to the server. Even if they had delivered the wifi capable router, it probably would have the settings I needed. (or the option to turn off DHCP and wifi)
Welcome to the new age! I would hate to have to reset all the wifi devices in my house...last time I looked there were around 30 devices. (2 phones, 6 tablets, 1 doorbell, 3 alexas, 3 tv receivers, multiple laptops, a dozen light bulbs, etc.)
