And now I have the opening scene of Aerith in Final Fantasy VII stuck in my head.

Not sure how you got there, but that was holy ground those flowers bloomed on[^].
On a side note, I started FF IX on PS4 just yesterday.
It's my least played FF (except for XI, XIII and XIV, which I haven't played at all) and I decided to give it another go

I read it "Extinct Bird Revolvers" at first and I thought that it's a f*g good name for a metal band.

Android WARNING: Google confirms THESE phones have dangerous malware pre-installed[^]
Yes, yes - it's the Express (normally only concerned with how terrorists will affect house prices if you install them in your country - not actually sure they know what a phone is) but a quick check shows other sites as well.

As terrorists tend to blow things up, thereby making them more scarce, classical economic theory say that the price should go up.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

The Express is much more interested in things that might make the price go down: non-golfers, terrorists, people under 50. That kind of thing.

Hmmm, I've got a good respected name but carrying an overpriced (overstocked too I bet) product.
Lets put that reputation to work....
yeah, no. (I'm not saying the product is lousy, from reports the pixel is really really good, but...)
difference is Apple products were never anywhere near cheap (and for sure never free),
google though.

3 Hours of Gentle Rain[^]
No, seriously: the lyric track is a bit short, but ... reminds me of home, and is actually an aid to concentration - for me at least.

We've had that here all morning.
Was going to go pick up sheet rock then started to rain...dang can't work (sarchasm). Hmm I'll just have to find something else to do. So I printed up a rotary encoder wheel and am designing a cradle for the motor so I can do some speed tests. As though I didn't have enough on my want-to-do list as it were! (Also sarchasm)

It's not rare than after a day at work when I have returned home and it is raining, I have sat in the car for a few minutes with the engine off listening to the sound of the rain on the car roof.
It is a strangely soothing sound

Yes ... but ...
This house (home for 15 years now) has thick walls - 2 foot thick granite (called "riverstone" because it's been slammed about in a river for so long it's like diamond, just putting up a shelf needs special equipment and a weekend).
Unless you are in the extension you can't hear weather at all!

I have an Acer Iconia-somethingorother tablet here that I bought a few years ago, as a replacement for some older tablets that manufacturers never provided updates for. It's running Android 6, and (lo and behold) the manufacturer's never provided any update for it either.
But that's not the point I'm trying to make. It's plugged into the wall and has been in sleep mode, quite literally, for months. Sitting on my desk, within eyesight, with the display turned off.
This week, I've watched it power itself on a few times. Not just getting out of sleep mode and going back to the "desktop" (what do you call the desktop anyway on a tablet...? But I digress again). Eventually it goes back in sleep mode, like it's been set up to do.
This morning alone, I've watched it reset itself at least 3 times. I'm not doing anything with it. Whatever it's doing while it should be sleeping, is causing it to crash hard and reset itself...repeatedly.
The few times I do use it, it seems to crash and reset itself if I look at it wrong. A while ago I figured if it's going to go to waste, I might as well route the headphone output into my stereo's AUX input and have it play MP3s. Nope, sorry, it stutters and stammers all over the place, and...eventually resets.
This is worse than Windows in the mid-90s. The worst user-mode application should never manage to take down an entire OS even if it tries.
I already own 4 Android-based tablets. The only OS update I've ever seen for one of them got it from Android 4.2 to 4.3. I've stopped buying into the lie that Android manufacturers are now providing OS updates on a regular basis to fix fundamental problems like this. I'm done buying Android tablets with the hope that the next version of the OS might be more reliable.
Did I have a point to make? Probably not. You can draw whatever conclusion you want from what I've already written.
