Gawd, are they still going? I remember them when I were a kid ... nice crispy pastry, they had.

Lovely things. They come in two sizes too!
Many a Uni dinner came out of one of these tins .. and then the tin was repurposed as an ash tray - early up-cycling

I thought you were going to tell us about your adventures with 50 year old field rations, how to prepare fresh rattlesnakes or something like that.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Wales has some interesting wild life but no rattle snakes I am aware of...

I'm in Singapore though, there are snakes (though quite rare, only seen a 3 wild ones and half a dozen road kills in 20 years).

That must be because they all rattled for the last time when they were thrown into a stew pot.

My mother's cooking. The only worst cooking I ever knew is my grandmother's... on the other branch of the family. But my mother routinely cooks stuuf that expired years ago. Record: pizza with self-raising flour expired 15 years before. It was hard as a diamond.

umm, are they suggesting something bad may happen with their product??
Sounds like it's not their food they're not trusting, but rather your microwave oven.

I can't blame them, my microwave makes me burn my hands on the plate while the food is still frozen solid

Seen before a sulphurous moon, road marker’s all grown up now (6, 6)
Visible road marker before a sulphurous moon (6, 6)
The "all grown up now" was more a comment on the solution, rather than part of the clue!
(This one would be impossible in many places, but I reckon should be OK here)

I haven't worked out how the whole solution fits yet so I could be way off, but as some of it seems to fit nicely I am going to have a guess...
