Scrotum.

"I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible."

Ah, I know the answer now. Tom's clue made it really easy, and it fits you clue perfectly... Personally I think that qualifies as the correct answer from Tom

It's only a correct answer if you say the word - but Tom did, so he's up tomorrow.

I think you win. The answer is now very obvious after your clue, so it's basically like you answered it... right?

Hi CPians (specially the US-CPians),
I have two questionsw about pruchasing US-Software.
if a website shows a price for a software license on it, is it usually brutto or netto?
And if it is netto, how much % do I have to add to know the brutto price (what I actually will have to pay)?
Thank you in advance.

The price displayed does not include tax or shipping. Add it to your cart and you'll see whatever tax will be charged.

John Simmons / outlaw programmer wrote: Add it to your cart and you'll see whatever tax will be charged I tried it... but it just says "TBD". I suppose it comes in the last step before ordering, but I don't want to register only to know how much taxes come.

Sales taxes are levied by your state and the % varies by state. If a company has a presence in your state, they charge your state's sales tax. So, for some states, they don't collect anything. My state has a sales and usage tax, so expects to collect a tax if you buy on line.
Edit: My guess is that, if you are not in US, they will not collect a tax. IANATL
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

No I am not, I am in Europe.
It is a license that once purchased I donwload it directly. So theoretically no shipping needed.

You might even want to contact their purchasing department as there may be use or import taxes/duties as opposed to sales taxes, not to mention export restrictions. Many software companies will work with an international distributor so they don't have to deal with all these intricacies, so you may be redirected to another site to complete the purchase.

That's exactly what I did.
Thanks anyone answering.

As usual with these things, it's complicated. There is no straight answer because the laws vary from state to state when it comes to exports and sales tax. What you have to find out is what state the company is doing business in and then Google for the export and tax laws.
For example, in California, if the item is shipped directly out of state (not picked up in the state), it's tax exempt. If, however, you have someone pickup the item, say from a store front, and then ship it to you, then you pay the tax.
In Texas, you pay the sales tax no matter what. Only when the item is exported, and you can prove it, can you apply to get the sales tax refunded.
So, have fun with that!

I read a bit about it and see a couple of sites with a map full of symbols of what was being taxable in each state.
I went for direct asking the company. The actually answered pretty fast.
