So I thought to give a report on this (mind you I lost over a week before setup whilst on vacation):
The Lounge[^]
I put Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on the system - as it turns out, Ubuntu and Intel got together for this and it's a direct simple install (this version). Right out of the box, so to speak.
The little box is great. Ubuntu, however, has changed a lot since I last ran it. Embracing a bit of a simpleton's outlook. I can forgive the pre-installed links to Amazon (for example) as they give this away free and maybe they make a little from it. But the software download mechanism (for example) is now much of a cellphone mentality setup. The screen, a 32" TV, is being seriously over-scanned. I can't fix it on the TV end so I turned to xrandr. Not working out well. Luckily, changes are not persistent from the command window. This is not playing well with others as I remembered from Ubuntu of by-gone days. It's not even as intuitive as the Raspberry PI running Raspbian - with all the abbreviations inherent in that distro.
I don't mind the added user-friendly - but at some point they're degrading the usefulness of the system.
Well - another few days and then I'll take the Linux Mint challenge, as recommended in the original thread. Or maybe I can find a friendly-install for some other version.

This turned out to be more of an Ubuntu update than a NUC update. But, I suppose if it just works...what else is there to say? I take it that less is more.
Also...18.04 is out, why'd you settle for something that's now over 2 years old?

Cause it's got LTS at the end. I like getting a car that has SS or GT at the end, it just has to be better.

This table on Wikipedia shows that every even-numbered xx.04 version of Ubuntu is an LTS.

An image that can come pre-loaded or something to that effect with the nuances for the NUC built in. Why not 18.04 LTS, too? I suppose someone has to do it.

This?
Sounds to me like it's very different than the "regular" Ubuntu version you'd use on a desktop.

Amtrak Tickets, Schedules and Train Routes
Just try booking a round trip ticket from Hudson (HUD) to Grand Central Station (NYG). If you type in NY, ok, you get a drop down list, pick an item, and it selects the wrong destination!
Defaults to opening the first train of the day, which takes up the whole screen, so you're wondering, W(here)TF are the other options?
Click on a ticket price. Then you have to click on "Add to Cart" which doesn't always seem to work. Those horizontal green and blue things are clickable, even though the mouse pointer stays an arrow making me, at least, think they're not clickable and wondering what they're there for.
And if you want to change something, clicking on the browser's back button erases all data and you have to start from scratch!
Did I mention the layout is atrocious?
The whole booking design is pathetic. You could write it so that you could do the entire round trip on a single screen!
Must have been written in Ruby on Rails (actually, looking at the page source, it doesn't seem so) by an idiot (but this part still is true.)
Sadly, this is probably the result of feedback from computer illiterate people on what originally was an almost equally bad design but at least didn't behave so erratically.

Not so bad, but I've bought tickets from the NJ Path vending machines. The software does work - but where and when you can do things is crazy.
If I recall correctly, if you want more than one ticket you need to go to the checkout page and find the right spot to begin the changes routine. Why would I want to check out if I didn't finish with my selection?
I'm sure the usual riders don't have any problems - but then again, they're from NJ.

I could not get a train from OH to CA no matter what I tried. And it did not indicate why I couldn't get the train. Really terrible waste of time site.

Worked fine on Chrome. Now I have a ticket from Hudson to NY-GCT on 24th July. What to do with it? I am not even in same continent.

Ah that guy. I have access to his webcam and have recorded some acts of his. Tell him to pay me USD 600 via BTC so I can delete those videos and send him the ticket as compliment. The ticket is free!

I received one very similar last month, except it claimed it used my own camera to catch me in the act of watching the adult video and pleasuring myself, and threatened to send it to my contacts if I didn't pay.
I didn't pay.
So far my friends haven't admitted seeing the video. They're probably too embarrassed.
