That bath will probably not harm you if you only do it once. It's still wasteful and dumb.

Is the CP hive-mind aware of any such beast? I have unearthed some old hi-fi gear that I forgot I had, and plan to put it into my mancave office. However, I don't fancy having a second CD library, but nor do I want to have to rip and then play. At present I am ripping with Exact Audio Copy, and playing with WinAmp, but it would be really nice to do both at the same time.
My google-fu and bingleing have proved unequal to the task. I know it is possible with a five hundred quid bit of hardware, but has it been done with WinTen software?

Try looking 'Ion' products I am pretty sure they do an LP converter. I have one of there Tape Cassette to MP's widgets that works quite well using a iTunes, not used it Win10 only XP & 7 to date. My advice is too MP3 anything on Write-able CD's as they have broken down and become unplayable after a while.

Thanks for that - I have just had a quick look at their site and will have a proper browse later.

I have a spare USB3 2TB drive that I am planning on using, but I usually go for FLAC or WMA lossless.

I came across them in one of those news paper adds (while at my parents). I get the impression they are re-badge Chinese products, use battery only not the mains with them!

What's wrong with Windows Media Player? AFAIK, it's still present in the Win10 install.

That's weird! When I bought a new laptop in February, it had WinTen Home, and no WMP. About a month later I upgraded to Pro, and never thought to check if it was there - it is!
I shall have a play to see if I can do both at once.

Thanks for the pointer. All set up and on a roll, listening and ripping. Currently on Mozart Piano Concerto No.8, and going for all 27!

Not that I ever have a clue how to figure these things out, but this one reminds me of so called "agile management." And what do you know, it's a 5 letter word and a 10 letter word.

I got the first word hours ago but I'm still struggling for the second - am I right in thinking it starts with an 'S'?

Legal Compliance?
Don't know how legal would be created. Compliance is what determines code of practice.
