I seem to have all of them. One moment she's blonde, the next Brunette and occasionally a Redhead. In fact, even grey is starting to creep in - but please don't say anything. She'll bite your head off. The more grey appears, the more it costs me at the hairdressers.

SVG or Canvas or something else?
I have used SVG but am thinking of switching to use HTML5 Canvas instead.
What are your opinions?

Depends on the requirement, but for basic images SVG all the way! Canvas implementations have just classically had too many issues for broad compatibility.

Combined - Canvas for rich background and SVG for moving parts...

Useful but renders to HTML5 Canvas anyway.

Do you need unstable (non-persistent) or partial drawing, buffers, dynamic scalar image generation (opposite as vector image generation), layers or 3D? Then use canvas. For all other simpler cases use SVG. None of those technologies is superior - SVG is simple to use for simple use cases, Canvas is simple to use for advanced use-cases (and difficult to use for simple use-cases).
