Hi All,
Spreading the joy, as I have started a new project. Now comes the hard bit finding something to do as most of the people have run away from it... the hard bit is there is no definition of what it's supposed to do or why. There is a lack of testable stuff, also no mention of what OS is to run on the 104, hence the question last night about M$ embedded. I think it will be some version of Wind River going by previous experience.

PC 104? I liked that architecture even though I didn't have the chance to manhandle it much.

Yup PC-104, manhandle is the correct term, you can spend ages trying to get the driver right!

They just don't want to pay the shareholders, so they go around and buy things and off load cash . I think someone needs to hold nutella accoundable too.. he is gone all cloudy in the head.

Quote: Microsoft announced a significant reorganization of its Windows business back in March.
...
The organizational changes mean that Joe Belfiore, who has been the face of Windows Phone in the past, is taking on more of the important consumer-facing parts of Windows.
So the guy who killed the [at that time] largest mobile phone manufacturer, sorry, couldn't sell the ms phone, sorry in plain words, has demonstrated a history of having no clue what people want now gets to be in charge of the consumer facing facet of windows?? FFS
Why don't they just come out and say they are killing windows, instead of [just like the phone] have a lot of people suffer when it [probably very soon] falls down.
hmm, ape-pol, klome-ass or linuts? (start with the cheap Chinese version in case first choice is wrong.)
This internet thing is amazing! Letting people use it: worst idea ever!

Don't forget that prior to the takeover Nokia was having major problems due to the huge uptake of the iPhony - they weren't selling their "traditional" phones and didn't have a good smartphone that could compete. And the Windows Phone wasn't bad (though bits of it were pretty atrocious) - it just wasn't marketed as slickly as Apple did their overpriced tat!
But trying to make your desktop look like a phone nobody wanted to buy in the hope you might buy the phone was never going to be a good idea.

The reason we run Windows is because we develop on it.
In the past we developed on it because everyone was on it.
So, once we can develop software elsewhere, why would we stay on Windows?
Once there is no Windows there is no reason to develop apps for it.
Once there are no apps for Windows we will all move to other OSes where we are also developing apps.
This is all very circular. Or maybe it's a spiral, actually?
It seems to be the Windows death spiral.

Have you ever seen anyone do actual development on a phone?

Yes. Apparently the guy at the traffic light in the car right in the front. You would not believe how concentrated he was.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
