Be careful, you may find that the beta has features you like, but which are not present in the release version. Then you're left looking for a third-party add-on that provides that feature, but at higher cost.

Where does the "are also pc" bit fit in?

pc is the standard symbol for Parsec. Source - Parsec - Wikipedia[^]
I'd hoped that would also act as a distraction/red-herring to make the clue more difficult. Clearly it didn't work .

Hi All,
I have very poor unaided eye-sight and have worn glasses for over twenty years (my distance vision sucks). I recently had an eye test and found I needed an upgrade to my lenses and went the whole hog and bought new frames, Armani frames and after a week of 'high quality eye where' I can sasy I am not impressed, no sprung hinges (saved the specs many times), make a odd creak when removed from the head, strange rubbery feeling that I find odd, nose clips that are clipped rather than attached with screws.
I have a slight thing against non-user servicable things the lack of decent nose clips with screws are the thing that bothers me, nose clips (grips...?) have a habit of going green and falling off... on the up side I can now read the safety posters from my desk on the opposite wall...

You should know by know: "Fashion" != "Quality" || "Comfort"
However "Fashion" > "Reasonable Price" ...
My last pair were "memory metal" and that was good, but it has its limits - the nose bridge snapped twice and that was while they were on my head!
I now have gone back to varifocals which hopefully will extend the life by not being swapped over all the damn time (and with luck will mean I have better than a 33% chance of wearing the right glasses at any given time - previously I have "walk about", "reading", and "computer" glasses so I rarely had the right ones with me...)

The worst thing I didn't realise they were Armani, I tend to avoid name things as they are over priced and under perform (I have never bought a designer shirt aside from a fake name brand in Spain). Thankfully I seem to need only one pair at the moment (distance). I have developed a habit of pushing them up nose ala Clark Kent and when I do creak...

I used to think the same way but when I got a new pair of glasses last December I wanted the style without standard nose pads. The ones where the nose rest is the frame. I ended up getting Shaq-branded ones and they've been really nice so far. The arms are made out of this odd bendy-pseudo-plastic that's surprisingly comfortable as well. My previous pair with metal arms would sometimes start digging into the side of my head.

I've been using Lindberg for years now - they have no frame just a nose piece and arms ( both titanium ), v expensive initially but the upside is you can get them reglazed for about £300 - the initial cost was about £900 though

I must admit I have looked at them, and I was told my preciption wouldn't fit! It might now.

Lost one of the nose clips on my fancy Adidas titanium frames because of the "clip on" not "screwed on" problem.

Screws are good, clips hmmm.

Should be getting a new frame but those cost around a 50 to 100$. I'm not going to pay that amount for a few grams of plastic.

Not having been tested for nearly 10 years (worn glasses for 30) last week signed up for a research program from a manufacturer, what it included was a really comprehensive test and I even got paid $40 for it - almost 2 hours but it was far more detailed than the standard tests. They gave me a card I can show to any glasses maker that has all of my specs.
Apparently my eyes have evened up - last time tested there was a .25 difference but that's gone now. No other/new issues, except I may one day need proper bifocals (for now I can get still away by reading over the top of my glasses). Everything else normal, no cataracts starting, still above average angle of perception.
Was thinking going back to the auto tinting glasses, I find myself squinting in bright sunlight (which brings on migraines) and don't want hassle of carrying 2 pairs of glasses (i.e. 1 clear, 1 prescription sunnies).
I do wear contacts some days when not working (can wear normal sunnies), I find contacts are way better for driving day and night and serious biking treks.

I am a little phobic about eyes so contacts are a little bit of a no no, plus I have worn glasses so long I don't have normal blinking responce to avoid crap going in my eyes!

I've been wearing eye glasses for 30+ years.
It it my experience that you need to buy frames from frames only makers (yes, there are exceptions).
More so if you have a high prescription that warrant heavy glasses (like I have).
The current frames I have took me at least two weeks to find; I tried at least 100 different pairs, added weight on them to simulate the weight of the glasses.
I now have a pair of acetate Masunaga frames; no frills. and they fit perfectly.
I'd rather be phishing!
