I found the problem. Partly my problem, but mostly unreadable documentation from the wuckfits.
I have my connection, data is coming out and now to take the turd and apply copious amounts of polish!

Well Mythbusters did prove you could polish a turd, have at it.
(let me guess you had nice relax at the Pub, that got the creative juices flowing!)

I couldn't relax too much, I had to pick the girls up from the station after a night's galavanting in Londinium. I believe most of the place they visited is still standing.

Ahh - the harsh light of reality.
Actually, we're very cognizant of the geographical/geopolitical framework of out* planet. For example, everyone knows that Wales is near the Antarctic and the Japanese are trying to kill and eat you, calling it research (i.e., testing to see if a harpoon is still lethal)
So, take that! And pass the message on to your Fijian neighbors, as well.

W∴ Balboos wrote: .e., testing to see if a harpoon is still lethal You have to be really obese (or at least a resident of Obecity) to have the Japanese after you with harpoons. It's then also quite possible that Greenpeace comes and drags you back into the water every time you try to crawl ashore.
Edit: If you really run out of luck, the Americans come and blow you up with dynamite.[^]

Having the Japanese after you is not so bad...
they'll apologise after putting a harpoon through you and even bring you home you for dinner research.
The ruskies would keep beating you with rusty implements till nothing is left, the frogs will stab you with a fork and blame someone else (usually the krauts), the krauts themslves would precision slice you to evenly sized and weighted pieces, and the yanks would already begin their first salvo with ordinance that would leave a large massive humongous crater.

Hi All,
The difference between Dropbox and One Drive is minimal I was told...But we now have to use it as opposed to the communal Hard Drive I (we) used to use. I have used Dropbox for shunting files around for years so no problem stick it in Public email a link job done. The odd thing is I find it difficult to get the share thing right, I either use the incorrect share or I forget to update the link. I'm pretty sure this comes from not having it set up correctly but if I mod a thing that is shared do I have re-share the modded version?..

They can both, as far as I'm concerned, go die in a fire.

Still got the MATLAB Blues, I had too much of Simulink and Neural Net Tool kit...
(Simulink is way of wasting time you can spend so long calculating values, smack'em into Simulink and realise you got some matrix alegbra wrong, 'oh, but it's close, I'll just fudge it a bit' truely evil!)

I dunno - Dropbox works, and it's very useful. And it's not as "I'll take over your system and really elephant things up" as the MS equivalent.
Don't use it much, but it's handy for "centralized" file storage without having to set up a site or web service for it yourself.

I agree. Dropbox stores what you put there. You never know what the elephant will wind up in Onedrive just because windows thinks it should control everything.
It doesn't even seem to be very easy to get rid of Onedrive (not that I actually care enough to try very hard, though).

And because it does that, some people end up accessing files from the cloud without knowing it, and this can cause problems (like images disappearing from documents because OneDrive didn't serve them in time.)

It can be done, minor difficulty (even "un-installed" some files remain locked inside deep holes) - luckily [the over 10 years-old] unlocker 1.9.2 seems to be able deal with those.
Even when fully removed it tries to come back, for instance sometimes when orifice upgrades (- without asking, because of course ms knows better than us what we want or need).
I believe it's self-installer was modelled upon whack-a-mole cross bred with fire ants
