David Allen Coe wrote the perfect country and western song, because the last verse includes a reference to everything that's truly important (bolded for your consideration).
I was drunk, the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned old train!

My dog lives with cats; she doesn't bark at them - she does bark if anyone comes down the driveway that doesn't live here.
Having said that, isn't natural language intriguing? "We all love dogs" - nice sentence, but the opposite is what is actually meant. Do you think AI will ever be able to understand these nuances?

What you're talking about is sarcasm. There's a number of articles out there discussing how AI can be made to understand it. But I guess the bottom line is - "yeah, but it's hard".

Personally, I prefer the "watch cat" over the watch dog.
When your pet tiger here's a noise, it doesn't make any of its own. Just patiently waits. If the burglar breaks in - their might be a muffled scream; some clean-up; and a short term reduction in your feeding bill.
Win Win if ever there was one.

Just wait until you have a female cat and the loverboys come from everywhere in the area to sing a sonata under your window.

As if that would stop the loverboys from coming, some may not even have owners.
In our case the story ended well. It turned out that the loverboy recently became homeless and our cat felt lonely. She had attacked every cat before and after him, but he was right. She let him in and eventually we had two cats that kept everything else away from the house, including dogs.
