What? I thought this was supposed to be a serious discussion.

I wonder if some programmers go to the hardware store to look for a 'left' angle bracket when they need to fix a shelf?

Let them have their fun. It's always cute when foreigners try to make fun of the US. It shows their jealousy. If they polled other countries, it would likely be even lower.
There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Hahaha!
Love these polls, they always find the stupidest of people to ask.

Unless you do a side comparison with another country that makes us look better, you are just proving to the world that Yanks are retarded, as originally assumed.

This posting also proves that we can still laugh at ourselves - very necessary in the crazy world we inhabit today.

I'd pick Canada. The public schools there are as bad as ours.

I know everyone here on CP finds it fashionable and fun to insult Americans, but citing 3 year-old fraudulent surveys made by garbage companies from the U.K.?
C'mon, you can be more inventive than that.

It's an American that posted it.

Yes. And I got the link off an American website: Msn.com. But I better duck and run. Now where's my coat?

The nationality of the person posting it is immaterial. I noted that the survey was created by an outfit from the U.K.

So why would an American take any notice of it?

0) I wonder how many people that took the survey intentionally selected the most ridiculous answer simply because - well - anarchy.
1) When you look at the actual survey results, you'll see that a vast majority of people answered correctly, and I suspect you'd get similar results regardless of the country in which the survey is conducted.
2) I understand that you're simply singling out Americans because that's who took the survey, but it's like reverse discrimination. It's okay and funny to trash Americans, but it's abhorrent and evil to trash people from other countries. Just like only whites can be racists, but blacks don't have a racist bone in their body. Same sh|t, different day.
This really belongs in the soapbox, and I'm kinda surprised that wasn't obvious to someone as intelligent as you. I suppose there are stupid people in every country, but it looks like we need a pointless f*ckin survey to root them out.

In this forum it has an offensive limit of 50%. So you can't offend more than 50% of the readers.
Now in the soapbox you cannot post anything that doesn't offend at least one person.

OP's American too and given the site demographic, highly likely white as well. I don't think he meant to offend anyone.

Sorry that hardly seems remarkable.
16% of them believe in bigfoot. That would seem like much more of a problem.

You mean... HTML doesn't stand for Humping Too Many Lasses?
