Oddly enough, I'm not being cynical when I say "can't she just sit a bit closer?".
I guess it has to do with growing up with B&W TV, but, no matter how big the screen, there's precious little worth watching, let alone SuperSizing an extra-extra large.

Is this thing real? There's no discussing of the underlying technology, algorithms, code base, etc. Seems like some fancy SGI with children to make it look cool.
Created by Bret Victor who worked as a "human interface inventor" at Apple for 4 years, but I guess his talks "Inventing on Principle" (2012) and "The Future of Programming" (2013) are what apparently, in some circles, elevated him to godhood.
[edit]Just watched the first video, actually quite impressive! But I still wonder, are these tools available?[/edit]

My goodness do these people not have any sense of shame regarding the manner in which they slaughter the English language?
...also, I watched most of that talk you linked to and read many of the comments - my impression is that he is not a software engineer and very few of the people leaving comments are software engineers. I thought it was a pretty poor talk from a software engineering point of view with very few specifics and lots of generalisations which did not really communicate anything at all.

Can't really see that the verbiage on the page expresses anything that hasn't been claimed by other 'projects' going back through time. Communes of the 60s had similar claims.
Doesn't mean it might not make money though. At least for a while. Compare it to Second Life.
"2040: A dynamicland in every neighborhood, following the model of the Carnegie libraries a century ago. Like libraries and museums, these dynamiclands will be run by the local community and reflect the local culture, in contrast to franchised clones or mass-produced products. Perhaps existing libraries will be dynamiclands."
Rather certain that is not going to happen.

This : Boxing Day - Wikipedia
In these consumerism days, it is the day when we usually go back to the store to exchange Christmas gifts (especially clothing with wrong sizes) or to get bargains (our "black friday" equivalent) at the after Christmas sales specials.
Or did you have another question in mind?
I'd rather be phishing!

We already have a Black Friday, and it's on the same day as the American one.

Boxing Day originated in England hundreds of years ago. Wealthy people with servants would give them the day off on the 26th & would give them a Christmas "box" i.e. a sum of money. Another version has it that it refers to tradesmen or others who provide a service (e.g. garbage men) receiving a similar Christmas "box" or tip on the day after Christmas. One final version is that churches would collect money in an offering "box" for the poor in the period leading up to Christmas. They would distribute the alms collected in the box on the 26th in honour of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, whose feast day is the 26th.
Overall, a somewhat more honourable day than the current version where for some reason after spending 2+ months buying a bunch of useless stuff, people want to go out and spend a load more money on more stuff they really don't need but have to have because it's "cheap"!!!!
