My add-ons only update if I (1) update firefox, or (2) do it manually. In the latter case, the extension page will show dated add-ons and I need to affirmatively click to update them.
The experience I've had w/the FireFox update suggestions have not been bad at all. If I have any complaint, it is that when it goes to ver 57, several of my extension [Legacy] will become incompatible and there's no compatible version. Solutions are either an alternate extensions or an alternate browser.
I'm still mulling over which way I'll go (there are FF forks that maintain compatibility).

Microsoft can turn your Windows updates back on if it is disabled. I've had them do it me, but I don't know why they would except to prove you are not in control of your pc.

Why am I not surprised? Since I never agreed to it (Win7). Time for some class-action?
Thank goodness for my Raspberry Pi 3: another step towards Linux!

MS forced updates back on, on my Win10 laptop.. yes, to prove that it's not my laptop after all, despite that I'm the one who paid for it long before they ever dreamed of Win10. One day, when it tried to boot, they they had it claim there was some problem with the OS that it needed to fix, and after "fixing" itself, then force-rebooting, updates (well, technically, downloading the updates) had been turned back on.
There's a reason I own exactly one Win10 system in the house (I rolled my main laptop back to 8.1).. and it's on a 12 year old laptop that I use only for remoting into work from.

As a lazy person I like to use all the shortcuts I can. So when I want to change the case of some text, or even a single letter, in Visual Studio, I use Ctrl+(Shift)+u, as listed on the "Edit - Advanced" menu tab. Converting from upper to lower works fine, but when I try lower to upper, i.e. with the Shift key pressed, it does nothing. And then, a second or so later, a new Explorer Window pops up focused on my Pictures folder. Is it just me or are others seeing this; Windows 10, Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition?

I can only assume iIt is definitely some background process that's hooking into Windows for some reason. Only I don't know how to find it.

Hi All,
Finally found a use for a bottle of Tipp-Ex today. In the late 20th Century they were used for correcting type written & Handwritten errors in the early 21st they take up room until today...
Creating a surface to write on a piece of kit when you have no marker pens! Hmmm I can now write on
most anything!! The possibilty for Graffiti abounds! If I paint it white and wait 5-10mins ( )...

It's also useful when you are forging canister Damascus - it makes it easier to remove the canister once the content is bonded.

I like watching people who know what they are doing do what they are good at!* I'm not planning on becoming a smith - I went into computers because it was indoor work with no heavy lifting, after all - but it's good to see people who care. I preferred Jason Knight to J Nielson though.
* It's so refreshing after a lifetime of watching people who haven't a clue f'ing everything up and not knowing why it all went to sh*t.
Out of interest, have you seen this: Forged in Fire: J. Neilson Teaches Wil and Doug to Forge (Season 3) | History - YouTube[^] (SFW)

Won't argue with you there.
It's one of those things I watch because it's so completely opposite of me. It's pretty cool what someone (that knows what they're doing) can accomplish it that time frame. No, I've not see that link will take a look, thanks.

As a further tip (for those who don't have their local version of White-out).
There are a type of pens, usually silver, gold, and copper 'inks' that actually write with paint. I used these to write on floppies (51/4, 31/2) as well as metal and glass. It's quite opaque (and removable). I believe other colors are available. The one's I refer to are US$1 - $2, each.
Another item writes (almost) anywhere are pens like a Rapidograph, loaded with India Ink. I used to use these in lab to label volumetric flasks. Resistant to any solvent washes off pretty easily.
This for when your other stuff runs out.

Sometimes I have a discussion (like just now) and we are both seemingly in agreement.
But both side have to keep explaining their side because... the other guy don't seem to understand...
Does it ever happen to you?
It just happened to me and I wonder.. what is wrong with me? Is my foreign accent confusing people? oh well...

You must learn to understand the other sides goals. Often managers have other goals or orders and only are discussing to be polite and to "play" that you are respected.
In truth are some decision already taken but you arent yet informed.
