"... a closed enlivenment"
That's a rather amusing (presumably) auto-correction.

Auto-correction?
I took note of it as a new term to describe a VPN, nodding "OK, so that's what they call it in his environment. Maybe it is as descriptive as any other term...". As computer guys, we should be familiar with every new paradigm bringing in new terms for old concepts; it happens all the time.
If you have ever been developing software in a 'workspace' model, such as Smalltalk or APL, where you add and remove actors and functions and data structures like in a virtual world (such as Second Life), the term 'enlivenment' certainly isn't far fetched. Expanding the workspace from a single application one to a VPN is an obvious extension, and the term still fits.
It still could be an auto-correction, though. But a good one.

It would be cool if they made the regular ones working properly. I've tried to buy one for my daughter in March. Display battery wouldn't work, they have two batteries somehow. Turns out it is a very common defect with them.

FWIW, both of my first-gen Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets are still working fine. I mostly bring the RT with me outdoors to read. The Pro, for a few years, was my primary device, hooked up to a dock and 3 monitors. It only got (semi-)retired when I got a 4K-capable NUC.
I guess YMMV, but that can be said of any device.

given ms track record with updates it'll fail to fold after update 1, update 2 wont fix it, 3rd update it'll fold itself into a crane (literally a pain in the ass if put into rear pocket), and after update 4 it'll be impossible to unfold.
They'll stop making them after that, then 2 years later announce it's return as a monacle.

Nope. It's someone who is sick of iterating.
