Many people use obscenities when they mean to use my name.

Are those mistakes or are they just adding adjectives?

I like to think of them simply as "colorful metaphors".

It's better than this (came from someone named "Clamydia"):
Dear John,
I was thinking about you last night. What's your name? I bet we'd be a good fit. What are your interests?

Either Microsoft have accelerated the roll-out, or my computer passed some secret test; either way, the "Fall Creators Update" appeared on my updates last night, rather than hiding for the usual 4-6 months after release.
The update process has definitely changed. It spent just over an hour downloading and preparing, during which time the computer was usable, albeit slightly sluggish. After clicking the button to restart, it took almost exactly 30 minutes to update, and then another two minutes for the annoying "Hi, we've got some updates, blah, blah..." nonsense. Previous updates did less work up-front, and spent longer rebooting, so that's an improvement.
There only seem to have been two casualties on the "not compatible" front: EMET, which is now baked into Windows Defender; and the Cisco VPN client.
The "Sync your settings" option now seems to be borked - "Sync is not available for your account. Contact your system administrator to resolve this." Who's the system administrator for a Microsoft account on a non-domain-joined PC again?
Oh, and the new "emoji input panel" (Win + .) only works if your computer is set to US-English with a US keyboard layout.
Other than that, everything seems to be working.

My experience with the Fall Update was really bad. After the lengthy update, none of the Microsoft apps worked. Clicking on the lower left corner for Startup - or whatever they call it, did nothing. I could not even restart or turn off. Clicking on any MS item, like the shortcuts I had for the calculator, MS Office and the weather app, produced an ominous message: "System call failed!". All non-Microsoft apps seemed to work.
So I started trusty ole Macrium Reflect and restored an earlier image to get rid of the Fall Update. That restored functionality to what it was before the update. Fall Update? All I can say is: "Yuck!"
Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

The Fall Update performed well over the expectations: It updated, it fell. 100% success rate.
