I think every now and then, it's the Irmas that's happening around Azure data centers. Last few months have been alright nevertheless.

What database and what version?
Corrupted databases are something I saw rarely in the 90s but this is literally the first one I have even read about in at least 10 years.
To be fair when I say "database" I mean "relational database". I could make mongodb fail at will.

MS SQL Server 2008r2.
It was the first time I'd ever seen this happen...and I may be totally off on the corruption theory...I'm now thinking 'locked' instead...but bizarre nonetheless, and luckily, fairly easily solved with a full db drop and restore.

Just saying that I would find it rather amazing if I saw a kangaroo hopping down my street. Rather surprising to me that there isn't a wild population somewhere in the US. Plenty of non-native squirrels and pythons so why not a few roos?

I had kangaroo at a dinner; enjoyed it.
I'd like to here from those in Australia. Do you hunt kangaroo, eat them? Thoughts?

An upscale restaurant across the road from work serves wild game for the evening meal.
We had a work dinner there. I had venison, a co-worker had bison and another co-worker had kangaroo. We all shared a piece from our plate with the other team members to see what we enjoyed.
I've had venison frequently, bison on occasion, but that was the first time I ate kangaroo. It was a nice red meat, different texture.

I've not tried it, but I've had ostrich and alligator. Ostrich is like very, very lean beef, alligator is a fishy chicken with the texture of pork. Sounds weird, but it's not bad!

My former manager at another job used to hunt and eat alligator. I can't say I'm anxious to, but I wouldn't mind trying ostrich.
My general opinion is: I don't want to eat anything that is big enough and has the ability to eat me. Along that line, a former co-worker shot and harvested a black bear last year. This week, he can some ground bear in his chili; he enjoyed it.. I'll pass.

Bear is good.
It's so dark that beef seems more like white meat after you eat it.

You can get roo meat at the local supermarkets, but I wouldn't call it popular.

There has been in the past a reluctance to commercialise roo meat, now you can get it in most supermarkets. It is an excellent, fine grained, gamey tasty meat that makes excellent steaks, medallions but not roasts.
As for hunting roos it is done as a sport and there are culling operations in place as well. Actually farming the critters is in it's infancy I think.
As we live in an urban area, Cairns, we mostly see wallabies, sometimes in their hundreds.

And it is tender. Have to say I prefer Ostrich though. Coarser grained but less gamey and even tenderer.
