I was thinking about a tablet, and am intrigued by this one's [^] size, feature set, and screen res, etc. Read a few reviews that say it's sturdy. And, of course, the price.
I probably wouldn't use the Android part of its double-boot feature.
Your experience ?
thanks, Bill

Bill, I've got a Hi12 - Take three tablets and call me in the morning - the Chuwi Hi12[^] - which has the 1.44GHz Cherry Trail processor insted of the 1.1 in the newer(?) Hi13.
And it's noticeably more sluggish than my desktop - which is about five or six years old, and wasn;t state-of-the-art when I bought it! Depends what you want to do with it, but VS2017 has a minimum spec that includes a 1.9GHz processor - though it runs on the WookieTab, albeit slow to load. So if you want to code on a Hi13, you might want to look elsewhere.
In short, the Hi12 is good - solid, well built, and I've only had one problem which I think it probably weight related: one of the keyboard connectors bent, and the (optional) keyboard doesn't connect too well any more. Chances are the Hi13 is even heavier, so you might want to think about "proper" keyboards rather than docking ones.
I also don't use the Android side (to be honest, it's difficult to use because most apps assume a much, much smaller screen so everything looks a bit "Special Needs Group" in Android. Works very nicely in Win10 though!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Thanks, Paul,
I didn't remember that your Wookie was a Chuwi.
The tablet would be primarily for in-home in-bed reading of e-books, playing music, videos. Maybe occasional web-surfing over WiFi in some cafe-shop outside the house.
I'm having enough trouble with sluggard VS 2017 on a laptop with an i7, and 8 gigs of ram, right now (my main beast is getting upgraded).
While I like the idea of having a 3kx2k pixel screen, a big unknown for me would be how stuff would look on that screen blown-up by scaling to the point I could read it, comfortably, given I have one usable eye at present.
Probably an e-ink device would be a wiser choice.
I can order from Lazada without fear of the problems you went through ordering direct from China. If I were in Bangkok, I could probably find one to try out in the great den-of-thieves-digital, Maboonkhrong (aka MBK Center).
cheers, Bill

I think the weight may be against you: the Hi12 weighs in at 828g, and is uncomfortable to hold in one hand - plus reading in bed is a recipe for dropped tablets...
The Hi13 apparently weighs in just over the kilo: Chuwi Hi13 Review - Tablet PC Comparison[^] so you might want to see how easy it is to hold for bed reading.
But the display should be brilliant for reading, even at large magnification: you are talking about 266dpi which is better than all the e-ink devices I've seen.
Are you still waiting for your cataracts op?

It's a big lump of glass with a large battery, and a metal back - it's pretty solid, and yes, heavy!
But ... the battery lasts really well (I charge it a whole load less than my Nexus 7), and it is a lovely display!

Nearly $500 US for a tablet!! I think a cheap laptop even a chromebook would get you more bang for your buck.

Hi,
I was asked to create MSI package for application created in .NET framework 3.5. Requirement included license key validation and business rules. Shall I use Visual studio 2010 to develop MSI packages.
I know very basic on crating MSI package , but not experience on crating packages for enterprise application. I was assigned a project to create packages for the training application developed for the very larger organization having clients all over the world but in my project there is no technical people to guide me.
I understand lot tools available in the market, I proposed Visual studio installer project 2010 (Visual studio 2010) since I am a .NET back ground. we can achieve creating MSI package using VS 2010 with incorporating the license key validation and business rules? . I am very much confusing for the tool selection. Kindly help on this..
Thank you very much..

Thank you very much, I will go with VS 2010 since I am from .NET background.. I have to deliver this project without any technical guidance from the project. Thinking VS 2010 is comfortable for me .. My fear is any limitations on VS 2010 comparing other tools.. VS 2010 is good enough to go.. Then fine for me..
Thank you very much

2. since you say you are: "I am a .NET back ground," why haven't you done basic research into installer tools for .NET, here on this site, on the several major commercial tool vendors,on the web, on GitHub, etc. ?
3. If your description of the context of this project is accurate (and I doubt that), I'd estimate your chance of success as #0.
Time for you to get to work !

Thanks for your comments. My apologies if my post is in wrong forum.
I am new to crating installer packages for enterprise applications.. I did research my self but due to time constrains and environment restrictions I am not able to proceed for the tool selection over the lot of dedicated tools available in the market.
I suggested VS 2010 to my project , I would like to get advise and validation from this larger form where people have very good expertise on creating MSI packages. If my choice is not better I will consider for other tools at initial state of my project.
Thank you very much

What's worse is despite people posting their questions in the wrong forum, some others still proceed yo post answers.
And I thought the moderators could redact posts, yet they do nothing too.
